Considering the size. That is one of the nicest 4x8 layouts I have seen. I'm in the process of doing 3 1/2' x 6' N scale. I am looking to do 2 levels. You just gave me an idea for my upper track plan. Thanks for sharing.

H Dan, Great video. For anyone wanting to build a layout with limited space they could do no better than create a layout along similar same lines as you have done. Having different levels is the answer as it provides a lot more interest. Quite refreshing to not have those 'in yer face' DCC sound effects that accompany so many layouts these days. Model railways do actually have sounds and movement of their own, and to me, shouldn't necessarily try to perfectly imitate real life railways. Nice to see BR locomotives and rolling stock!

Hi Dan, I have done quite a few 8 x 4 foot layouts myself. It looks like you do not use many points. These do tend to cause stoppages and derailments. Nice scenery. Do you have any shots of the Magna rail?

Thanks for that! I’ve seen quite a few of your videos actually, and in fact your amazing layouts gave me a few great ideas, so thank you for that! I’ve decided to go without points for the last couple of layouts just for ease and enjoyment of running, without the derailments as you say, which happen a lot with the extreme temp changes we get. I think there’s another couple of vids featuring the Magnorail, it’s a great system. Cheers, Dan

I have a Christmas lights shop in Brisbane and we have bought a few sets of these to sell so I need to make one to help buyers fit it to their Lemax Christmas displays. I would love to buy direct from Hornby but when I enquired I did not get a reply. I started with Hornby 50 years ago and still like their products. I was thinking just laying the track on a flat board and building it all up 6 or 7m with supports and then laying the sheet on top instead of using the router. Any thoughts?
