I'm so glad I found this series. There are so many stories of inspiration and courage. What you experienced must be similar to what a soldier goes through in a war. I couldn't help but think of Mister Rogers when he would talk to Children about going through a traumatic experience and he would say "Look for the helpers." You, Good Sir, are one of the helpers. Thank you for everything that you have done for others.

I am amazed at your calm and demeanor that you exemplify. Your story is incredible and it’s gut-wrenching to see how it has impacted all of us. All of us hurt that day and there are remnants that continue now 20 years later. You are well spoken and I was in awe of your experience. Lord, I pray for you and not only your health but your heart as well. I am a fellow New Yorker that moved to Atlanta as a young adult. You see- early in my career, I got my first job at American Express and I enjoyed it immensely and as you know it is right there across the street from where the towers sat. After hearing these painful stories in the anniversary of 9/11, I reflect that had I been there I too would have joined responders entering the building. Here in Atlanta, I watched this for 4 days straight and wanted to be there to do something at ground zero. I am a healthcare professional and have spent the last 27 years in the field after my second job early in my career working at St.Luke’s/Roosevelt. This is painful to watch but I seem to feel we must learn these lessons after consecutive years after 2001 experiencing pandemics, racial divisions, hurricanes and weather extremes, deaths of both loved ones as well as many of our greatest musical artists. It almost seems like we are headed in the wrong direction. God bless you

Blessings to you Guy and to this KZbin channel for this heart felt story. We will not forget. Prayers to everyone for all of the countless struggles we are presented with. Let us all work together for the good of mankind and pray that it doesn't take anymore tragedies for us to understand what that is supposed to look like. It is being reported that 1500 people are dying per day to covid in the US yet some people will not even wear a mask to prevent themselves and others from severe illness and death. Lord have Mercy on us all if we do not heed your warnings and do what is right and good according to YOUR will, in Jesus name, Amen.

This is incredibly brilliant and eloquent. I think about an individual's pettiness, and I cannot believe they have forgotten!!! I had a dream about 6 weeks before 9/11/2001 of people of all different backgrounds running around on the stairs of a black burning tower, reminiscent of the Tower of Babylon. Have we let the perpetrators of this tragedy win? Ask yourself...and have you taught your children the lessons of that day? How many of you can respond, Yes??

An EMT for a PRIVATE Ambulance Service that didn't get within a block of ground zero - that qualifies as 9/11 First Responder ?? Sorry to hear about your cancer but I don't see the connection and of those 2,000cancer related death from First Responders who actually were at Ground Zero none have been diagnosed with heart valve problems.

@@zed4643 not only that, he helped in hurricane katrina... floodwater is toxic also... Just come though a major flood nearly a year ago, and still dealing with toxic mould which is so detrimenral to ones health.. Some have nothing nice to say yeah?....and you only needed to be within a km of ground zero and the toxic fumes affected so many... 20 years later the cost of 9/ 11 is still climbing.... So sad....

You do realize that I was a block from building 7. Do you realize that the entire World Trade Center site had its own zip code? Are you aware that the debris field went as far north of 14th Street and as far south as the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel? Are you aware that debris was found across the rivers in New Jersey and Brooklyn? Are you even from New York? Have you ever even been to the site? The Federal government did extensive research and had to have documentation of presence within the red zone to certify that our illnesses were 9/11 related. Where were you? How close were you? Were you one of a half million people who volunteered between Sept. 2001 and May 2002? If f you cannot answer any of those question affirmatively I suggest you keep your opinions to yourself because you really don't know what it was like down there and you disrespect all of those others who got sick, are sick and passed away.

The EMS responders to the event were from FDNY, hospital based ambulances, private ambulances and volunteer ambulance Corps from all over NewYork, New Jersey and other states. It was a national disaster and mutual aid meant EVERYONE was asked to respond. Those who died that day were from all four aspect of EMS..
