@@yanijen9733 It's literally not, and even if it were, how is this "through the perspective of each gender"? 😂 Even Google defines "male gaze" as "the perspective of a notionally typical heterosexual man considered as embodied in the audience or intended audience for films and other visual media, characterized by a tendency to objectify or sexualize women". By that definition, it's questionable (and heatedly debated) whether the female gaze even exists in this society. The male gaze certainly isn't positive or even neutral, and it's a little insane to me that people who would never in a million year considering reading an academic and/or feminist article about it are out here misusing the term.

Because when it comes to media presentation, you can distinguish something clearly designed with the male gaze in mind/pandered to, or something that's meant to subvert the male gaze. Im not sure I would call it 'the female gaze', as even in your comment it's clear that the 'male gaze' is a reinforcement of patriarchal norms in its use as the 'default' point of view for most media. A subversion of that patriarchal norm doesn't necessarily mean opposite or without that influence. And of course there's the heteronormative aspect of those patriarchal norms. What is the male gaze from a queer perspective. Is a piece of media that clearly views women in a distinctly sapphic perspective, or views men as objects of desire through a gay perspective inherently opposing to the concept? Or reactions to it? Or just part of it. That's the problem with dealing with concepts so ingrained into society

@Eatshityoutube ok that’s fair. BUT in her defense they grew extremely close and she trusted him enough to be vulnerable with him. The feeling of there being a lack of reciprocation when he didn’t tell her is understandable, despite handling it very poorly. I think she also tried to figure it out because she was scared for him, at least during the later leg of the investigation. She got first hand experience of what he has to face everyday and realized he is literally risking his life by throwing himself in the deep end without knowing whether he can survive it or not. That’s scary for anyone to think about happening to their closest friend, so it’s no wonder she had to be completely sure. That along with the fear that he would be possibly using her for a cover. Her actions were out of line when she forced him to reveal his identity to her like that, she’s mostly to blame for all the relationship problems they are facing. BUT they are both trying to figure it out and heavy miscommunication helped promote the rift they developed between each other in the first place.
