I love Taro and Chopo, which is almost the same we eat that in Cuba like crazy, it's called the natural steroid However, the Mexicans don't really know much about it. Instead, they just eat Casava or also known as Yuca, which is good too. An awesome thing is that Samoans also cook the taro leaf with coconut 🥥 milk and it's a Meal.

Filipinos cook taro leaves with coconut milk and chili pepper.. sometimes with small pieces of pork belly. One of my favorite dishes.its called laing.

Actually though, I have been to Wellington, Christchurch, Hawaii, Samoan and Tonga and the food isn't the same. In all those places I tried to find "Island" food. But I think Auckland has developed its own "Island" food culture which is great! I always love new and original food cultures, imagine where it will be in 20 or 30 years!

I went to the African shop in Goodna one time to try out the fufu, and I bought some other random dishes. Honestly, it smelt bad and it tasted really bitter. The lady that served it to me was covered in sweat, so I had a feeling that probably contributed to the taste. Is there another african restaurant I could try this that has good reviews? I really want to give it another chance.
