Hi Darin. Here in Mexico we have Farmacias Similares. They sell many generic medicina and some patent meds at low cost. The owner owns another company that produces Dr Simi's toys. All the employees are disabled. Salud Digna Is a private chain of clinical labs with very reasonable prices. Thank God there are still some good people. I wish you the best!

STELLA! God bless you girl, I had a good friend with ALS that I worked with and was thankful that he had good health insurance. It just blows my mind that an insurance company has that much power to deny a drug for someone even when their physician prescribes it. Who knows how much time was taken away from Darin’s life because they think they know better than a medical doctor. This is why we need universal healthcare. Then no one would be denied anything !

Hooray for Stella!! So glad you got the medication you needed. I never got the super happy ending you did but I also have insurance through Anthem/SISC. Within our policy there are some claims that must go through American Specialty. I call them "The Deniers". 2 yrs ago, after a major surgery I came down with Parsonage Turner Syndrome. It's very rare and really weird. I asked the neurologist what treatments were available. He just said, time and physical therapy. I spent months fighting with American Specialty to get adequate PT. They eventually sent me a denial letter calling it "convenience care". Because losing the use of my dominant arm/hand for 3 months was super convenient. I finally gave up. I try to do exercises on my own but the numbness and lack of strength are still there. I guess I should be grateful the excruciating pain is gone. I feel your frustration. I'm so glad you were able to get your meds and I pray they are helpful!

Darin, I’m curious why the prescribing physician didn’t suggest Cuban’s pharmacy sooner especially if it could have resulted in you receiving your medicine. Not blaming the physician for the insurance company’s failure to adequately cover your care. Would the doctor be open to feedback about recommending Cuban’s pharmacy sooner to other patients given your success? I’m so happy you received your medicine. I’m so thankful to God I came across your video tonight. I was diagnosed with ALS January this year. It is as you described a lonely disease but I keep my faith in God. I have my moments too. Since the diagnosis that started with tripping because my right foot drop. I feel some weakness in my left foot a little. I have gotten foot braces and a scooter will be coming in a few weeks to help me around my home. It is very tiring if I do too much so I have to pace myself. I’m interested in the medication you ordered and plan to talk to my ALS Dr. Please let me know where I go to get this. You are very inspiring to me. So in response to your other video / question about sharing one’s diagnosis….I am personally all about it. There is so much information out there and navigating through it all is really tough, especially when you are physically or emotionally challenged with a diagnosis.
