All black South Africans have 'Khoi'/ hunter gatherer DNA. This thing that we came from from the north and went down south is just false and has been debunked. The Nguni are a native Southern African group that stemmed from the hunter gatherers. But the nguni did spread and go North of Southern Africa, like Zimbabwe and Zambia where you have a minority of Zulu speakers called Ngoni and Ndebele, they even dress like the Zulus and have beads like them. But to be Zulu or Xhosa does not make you culturally different from the other nguni members. The practices are identical only language and dress style is different. You can say we're a fashionable group of people. We are proud of our fashion and language, that's the only barrier we have amongst us but our cultural practices are almost identical. Process marriage, funeral and so on. Very much the same throughout South African.

As a South African black woman this is heartfelt and feels sad at the same time. When we face life hardships and all the confusion and misunderstanding we normally turn to seek our ancestors. I. This case where does this young lady start? Where would she begin to understand herself. I wish you all the best of luck and above all God's love and peace. My grandmother's mother from my father's side was German. When my father got cancer, it was very hard to find a chemo that could manipulate his DNA. The doctor suggested we do DNA test and try to track down family members that we can so that they can understand his DNA but also get others with his bloodline tested for cancerous cells as his cancer was more genetic related other than diet. We found her great grandchild that we never knew. My father was able to get the right treatment and the lady was also tested and one of her son's is getting treatment to avoid the cancerous cells from forming. Sometimes it cna save lives , its not only about colour.

@@mfundocele6718 thank you for your comment and allow me to admit that I am by no means an expert on the subject. However, my understanding is that the Khoisan race is made up of the Khoekhoen (Hottentots) and the San (Bushman), together known as the Khoisan or Khoe-San people or race. These were the original indigenous people of southern Africa and arrived to southern Africa millennia (150,000 years ago) before any Bantu races migrated that far south on the continent. Therefore, yes, the Khoisan are in fact a race, not just a tribe, and their genetic makeup differs from that of the Bantu races. With the genetic sequencing technology available at present, seeing one's own genetic makeup is so, so interesting, don't you think?
@mfundocele6718

@@fieraafricana that's a nonsense racist white mostly made up world view. Everyone's genetic make up is different. Does that mean a German is a different race from an Englishman because they show up different on DNA tests? Are Chinese and Japanese a different race? Bantu migration is a theory with no concrete evidence not a fact. Some versions of that theory have Bantu tribes Originating in South Africa. There are also hunter gatherer tribes that speak in click Sounds all over Africa. Hence they show up as South and East African hunter gatherer tribes on DNA tests. They are just another African tribe. I say this as someone who is 1/3rd khoi.

You are part of the human race. Don't let other peoples labels affect you as you are perfect just the way you are and as god made you. Be strong, alive and value yourself as a unique human being with the potential to make a difference in this world we live in. The only thing that you have complete control over is your attitude you are the only person that can change that aspect of yourself. God bless and stay strong!

As a white person who can trace my lineage back at least 3 generations to various white communities, I've always considered myself to be a mongeral. Races have been intermingling since the dawn of time and it's honestly just ridiculous when people act like a holes based on the idea that they are "pure". Was lovely seeing ur journey here. Very cool. Tx for sharing ❤

Wow. I am not a South African coloured per se, but more of one who's Hispanic and African descent, but my DNA is of Iranian, NW Europe, small admixture of Latin American Amerindians and Native Americas, Southern Europe (Spain, Italy and Greece), pinch of Chinese and Mongolian. My African roots are Khoisan by the way, Bantu, a little Pigmies, East African, Egyptian, Bantu, Yoruba and Nubian. Basically, my mom is of African descent and my dad is Hispanic with ties to Spain but I discovered really Ashkenazi and the Jews in Spain. So along with the African Diaspora, there appears to be Jewish migration and that explains who there's multiple ethnicities too. I'm glad you discovered your heritage.

I can imagine how you feel. I'm 100% Indian, from the north region of India and my parents were arranged marriage within our community but I did a DNA Test out of curiosity, turns out my DNA is made up of 4-5 different ethnicities, including Native American 😳. It's so unfortunate, the rhetoric used in India that marrying outside caste, culture, ethnicity is like a grave sin but like my whole community is mixed. I'm glad you were able to trace your roots 😊.
