@Jenny Otto you are right, It is becoming more and more rare. To hear songs like this sung, especially sung as it is in the hymnbook! And why is this? It is because churches more and more have thrown away the hymnbook (as they are even now throwing away US). Because there is no written music for another generation to learn, the knowledge of reading music and singing SATB is going away, too. It's all going away. Nobody took it from us. We let them have it. We gave it up. We surrendered so quietly that we didn't even bother with a white flag! Thank God these AnaBaptists are not ashamed of the things that anchor us and keep us stable. They are called Mennonites for a reason that most of them KNOW, in history that is 500 years old! Talk about an Anchor! Jesus is the Anchor of our Souls, but it is our history and the songs we sing that guard and keep our daily lives!

We sing it at our church. Our congregation is loves to sing, and we sing the four part harmony. We do have very hearty piano accompaniment. One of my favorites!

It's never too late to turn back to God. God loves you Jake. The prodigal son is a story of a wayward son who after he showed his wild oats and had nowhere else to go, he turned back to God and the Father ran to his son and kissed him and asked for his finest robe and a ring and he threw a feast in honor of his returning to Christ. That's all you have to do is turn towards God, he's waiting and you won't regret it. Praying for you ❤✝️❤
