My Application Timeline for MS Fall 2021 | Why do MS in Canada

I took my time to finalize my SOP and LORs, so I started early in the month of August 2020.
I gave my GRE and TOEFL on 26th September 2020 and 11th October 2020, respectively.
Most of my applications were completed and submitted in the first week of November. I'll suggest try to complete your applications as early as possible.

Hi thanks for the video. Can you mention the date you applied for uOttowa? I wish to apply for the fall semester. The deadline is on January 31st, but i still have not secured my IELTS and my undergraduate transcript is also still on the way. I plan to gather them by the second week of January. Would it be disadvantageous to apply at the last moment? What do you think? Also do you think a GPA of 3.32 out of 4.0 from a BSc in IT would suffice with the competition in course base computer science masters in Canada? Thank you!

Hi, I applied on 17th Nov. If the deadline is Jan 31st and you collect all the required docs by that date, then it's fine I guess. But I'll suggest try to finish the application asap. About the gpa, it depends on the applicant pool. You should have other aspects of your profile too, like internship, research etc.

What’s the difference between course based and thesis based masters

In thesis based masters you need to write a research paper and defend it in a conference

I was wondering about the letter of recommendation? is it after I submitted my application that my referees received the notification or before? They also have to abide by the deadline, isn't it? Any clarification will be much appreciated.

Hi when you are filling the application, you have separate section for the recommendation letters. You enter the details. In some applications, when you hit save the requests are made for your recommenders. In some cases the requests are sent after you submit the entire application. It should be mentioned when you are filling in the details.
