For yellow tail or green arowana blue base or even black would be nice.... Training pellets is not easy fish the fish is already adult... You need to starve it at least 3 to 5 days and then feed.

Hi , Thanks, glad you liked it. well this fish i manage to get it off a friend who just lost interest in keeping fish "lucky me" . The secret to get an asian arowana is to get a fish that is more than 8 - 9 inches because in that range we can see the quality of the fish already. Yes it will be a little costly but really worth it because getting a 4-5 inches and then when the fishes grows it might turn out to be something totally different. I suggest you look out on FB arowana group - they are some hobbyist or small traders that have pretty good quality fishes with reasonable price.

Firstly what type of arowana your tanning? I assume its mgbb. Are you satisfied with the tanning results? Has the chu all out yet and scale fully shine level 5 and above? If your satisfied then you can move into black tank.

I think the progress quite good for me. (Almost 3-4 months treatment) The upper scale (lvl 5) kinda looks shine before than first time i bought. Ok for REDArowana besides tanning you can groom it in many ways but you will never get those bright red colorations without tanning. Tanning is a Must for RED Arowana if not you will just get an orange fish. Some ways to grooms are feeding a healthy diet high protein feeds and keeping with water changes. I suggest if you don't wanna waste time Tanning Arowana get Gold Arowana instead because RED Arowana requires much much more work unless it full adults size red Arowana .

I have tried fish fillet, chicken heart etc, all rejected. It loves mealworm but I don't want to feed it mealworm because the shit will float and cause a mess. Currently I have no choice and feed it live feeder fishes which it will catch and eat. Any suggestion on this? TIA.

@@qingdeke961 I suggest you stop feeding live fishes as it may introduce parasites in your tank. Just starve him for 2-5 days and then try MP again. If he doesnt take then starve again then try he will surely eat. what the size of your fish?

what algae---if its green water algae thats means your tank is not cycled (adding uv will remove gree water but wouldnt solve the problem at source) add bacteria do fasten the nitrogen cycle. UV can kill most living thing is expose , if you wanna use uv please cover it full , place it in pipe or cover with sponge.

Natural light during the day is fine- but you might get an algae issue that would be really annoying. Covering during the day is a better choice.

Hi ryan, White tank treatment is to increase the scale shine/ make the scales metallic(these shine/metallic color wont fade because it the scale color permanent changed) so when you transfer into black tank then only you can see the base color come out. So most malaysian golden arowana base color are blueish so yeah, there are some rare gold base which in black tank the gold color would echanced. If you see in this video my top scales never fade at all only golden head where there is no scales fade a little. I hope its clear... If not ill make a video abt this to explain further.

I also ordered some tong puaka, its a 20 inch diameter white bucket.. You mentioning why you dont give mealworm regularly because it got a lot of fat and can get drop eye.. Well yes, you can use that tong for a while but be careful not to let temperature increase so much. A 2ft aquarium would cost much cheaper than that tong and it's larger as well. Yes, I don't feed mealworms, one of the reasons is fats, and another because I prefer feeding pellets. Yes, pellets have all the nutrition your fish need.

Hi , good question. Well actually BTT you dont need to have any lighting but you can turn it on during feeding just to view the fish. The darker the environment the better and faster the results. If you're doing BTT in MAIN tank like I'm doing then you should have lighting on it so you can view the fish. But if you have a dedicated Black tank just for BTT then no need for lights.

@@julianlopez85 Fews tips : 1. Prepare an aquarium and make sure its cycled (nitrogen cycled is completed will take around 2 wks to 2 months depending on setup) . Make sure tank has strong cover. 2. Many Fb groups or even Local stores sell those. Dont buy small fish. Nothing below 9-10 inches. Bigger fish much for hardy and easier to identify. 3. Choose a malaysian golden - (look out for chu scales (those mini scale just below the top end tail) if the fish doesnt have this then its hiback. Price range MYR400 - 1000 (depending on quality) price mention above is average quality. 4. Regular water changes weekly 30% . if you follow all this you wont go wrong.
