The whole BUJO trend has always seemed so heavy and like a ton of pressure to me...to get stuff done and to track 20 things and make it look good in the process. Ick. This is the first one I have seen that seems like a pleasure and a great way to fit creativity into everyday, even if only in a small way. I would love to see another video like this.
@speedragoon_6 жыл бұрын
The bullet journal system isn't supposed to look good or be 'pretty' I suggest for you to watch the original bullet journal made by the creator you'll see how simple it is supposed to be
@calendars45 жыл бұрын
Christy Fantino look at the original bujo videos. Decorating comes after the functionality. Also, every kind of journaling depends on the person, so please don’t put a not so nice comment about something lots of people like and enjoy on a perfectly fine video.
@nmoomoo4 жыл бұрын
Calindra Does Stuff I think even the functional bujos are so into tracking and doing tons of things and not allowing creativity. That’s what the op means. Like the minimal bujo peeps kind of ‘shame’ creative bujo artists.

we are not alone for sure haha! a lot of my friends in my major also tell me that they would like to draw more often but cant find the time to..i’ve been keeping up with this journal for a couple days now and i always do it at night after i’ve done all my schoolwork and it only takes me thirty minutes ish to finish doing it for the day which is nice. plus its a good way to unwind after a busy work day haha

i've been against bullet journaling because i thought why spend time making my planner look pretty when i could actually be working, but i LOVE the idea of doing thumbnail sketches every day as weekly and monthly spreads, in this specific space as a diary.
@roseg91036 жыл бұрын
creekkidart i think this is a huge problem w the popular representation of bullet journals. they aren’t just a “pretty planner” and they aren’t just for artsy people; a lot of ppl (+ the OG bujo guy!!) have a rlly minimalistic bujo that’s just for productivity. i think that view is a big problem that also intimidates people out of trying bullet journaling, sadly... at the end of the day a bullet journal should be your personal organizational system that can handle anything you throw at it!! (sorry for my bad english)
@creekkidart75546 жыл бұрын
i think you're right about a lot of people thinking of it that way. I actually saw the minimalist looking ones before the artsy ones, My issue is that i only have so much mental energy, so i don't want to spend it on organizing or making a cute planner from scratch because im not naturally minimalist or organized and i have ugly hand writing lol. But i never thought of combining art journaling with practice with bullet journaling, so i think this approach is really cool!
@sohinidutta975 жыл бұрын
I thought so for the longest time but I started bullet Journaling last year and it has been life changing. I don't make it pretty 😂 just nice squares and rectangles that will help me keep track of things and divide my time

I used to have an Art Journal that I used as a diary since I suck at writing out my day with words. It helped me improve my quick sketching and made me think more creatively. I keep a seperate dotbook journal because my therapist told me I needed to write out my daily schedule hour by hour to feel less overwhelmed and clearly outline the time I had available in the day. It worked. But it takes up a lot pages per month so I want to incorporate this idea with my current journal and maybe do more than one book for the year. Thanks for the inspiration!

PearFleur i use my sketchbook for both art and journaling. I tend to waste books by using may all at once and not filling it completely. I like to have my sketchbook maintain a theme and be consistent so being able to write comic stuff in it helps a lot. (Also what do you major in?)
@gmbaest16606 жыл бұрын
well my art journal is more journal than art I guess but I mostly write in there and decorate it with tapes and stickers and a few drawings as for my writing its mostly for myself and I usually talk about creative subjects movies songs but mostly art struggles/problems or what I enjoy about my art process it its a nice way to vent and gets me thinking about how I draw which has helped me more than you would think plus sometimes I write about likely future plans just to get it out of my system its a nice way of venting

This is honestly so amazing and creative. I keep a really structured bullet journal in order to keep up with school, and sometimes because of the hectic schedule I feel like I've neglected art and my sketchbook. That doesn't have to be the case anymore, now that I'm inspired to make my journal more artsy and fluid.

Thank you so much for this video. It really inspired me to see this as a small way to get into drawing again. I used to do the whole shebang: sketch daily, sculpt, do life drawing sessions, landscape drawing/painting... But a bunch of unforseen hardships got in the best of me. I got consumed by stress/depression. So I stopped making art about 2 years ago. It's so intimidating to stare at a blank sketchbook page and think of how your skills got rusty. But combining art with journaling is such a great way for me to break out of the rigid mindset that I'm only making art if I'm making full pictures or doing studies. I'm going to brainstorm ideas of what kind of spreads of I want do. I'm kind of excited 😊
