With the B in maths, look at your modules and see if its worth retaking. I got a B last year and retook core 2, the second time around its so easy you don't even have to revise and i came out with an A overall this year - worth thinking about

Mary El It usually isn't but it varies per subject. A lot of people I know are retaking between 1-3 AS modules. Mathematics is definitely the easiest to retake alongside A2 though, since your understanding of mathematics after studying c3 and c4 makes c1&c2 VERY easy.

You can always resit a few AS exams. My AS results weren't that good so I just dropped the worst ones, re-sat 5 exams and then came out with A*AB. 3 subjects was a lot more manageable for me and the resits felt so much easier because the content covered in year 13 is so much harder compared to it.

How do you combine your units to make an overall grade? For my sixth form they left each unit with its individual grade And do you guys get any certificate after? Because for us yeah you get the results slip but if you perform you get an Associate's Degree at the end of A levels

Personally I would have preferred not to do any revision at all and not bother revising a subject and be certain of a fail and focus the rest of my time on studying for another subject and getting an A/B/C grade rather than stressing if I actually pass an exam.

Lol no one cares about your gcses. you only need to pass to go to college. I had the worst time during my gcses - 0 motivation to study - and I still got into college. so do not worry

Well you should because doing a levels gets you a degree and u get paid more at uni. Also it's not all about getting into college

"11 A stars at A Level- err GCSE" lol if you hadn't corrected yourself I would've gone into shock! Hey I know you've probably been told this countless of times, but you have a year to revise and improve your study habits. I didn't get the grade I wanted in geography and it really did drag my spirit down. But after I calmed down I looked at it from a different point of view. Last year and this year was very chaotic for my family and I, as my younger bro had been diagnosed with cancer in May 2015. So we had to go to the hospital for his treatment etc and my mum pointed out that I got my grades without revising (I got a B in human geography, physical geography went bad lol) , and that now things are calm at home, I should be more than capable to get A's and B's. It means more pressure on me I guess, but seeing it from a different PoV really has helped me. Good luck with your subjects!

Well done man.Just got mine and into uni to do mech eng :D Nice man but i must warn you that your comment about maths is risky. A2 maths has higher grade boundaries than AS and is a bigger jump from AS C1/C2 to A2 C3/C4 than GCSE to AS C1. So id start a little pre reading now man. Dont be worried though cos once you get it in A2 you will always score about 60 raw mark E-Z. Key topics that will require A LOT of time and make up about 80% of A2 questions are Trig and identities and C3/4 Differentiation and Integration(beast topic). Take it slow and do bit by bit and you'll pass maths :D

Cheers man i got into my insurance which i still like (Swansea) but missed out my russel group :/. Yeah but dont stress too much just keep it chilled but do a little everyday from day 1 and you'll find the summer exams so much easier :D

Damn your A's are in the 80's? Lucky, the Australian system is graded like that it's done by ranking so I'll give an example to get into law at most universities it's 99+ ATAR. That means you have to be in the top 1% of the entire state(90,000 students per yr) to get that course. We also have the HSC which is what the government gives us, does not get us into uni though and that is based in bands from 1-6. Band 6 90-100, b5 80-89, b4 70-79, b3 60-69, b2 50-59 and band 1 is 0-49. They won't actually tell you your mark if you get below 35 though. The stupidest thing is though, in some of our courses because it's ranking you can get a 60/100 and that can be worth more than a 91% in others. Cause if you do a course with only 1000 students in it there is much higher average(especially if it's an advanced course), where as if the course has 20,000 students you a far more likely to be above average and therefore get a better rank/ATAR.
