Hi, just to say that the cdj mode 'stuttering' is not a fault/bug with the unit, its normal behaviour. If you press cue/play it stops. I guess it helps with cueing in cdj mode and is the same on other pioneer dj products... Not sure about the track going forward and backwards though 😂 Nice review, I'm considering getting one but may take some more time to decide.

Oh thanks for that tip man - didn’t know that! Totally not the way my DDJ1000 behaves but it’s just a laptop controller …
@markandrewsdj6 ай бұрын
@@SmilestonesDJAdventuresAh OK, having looked at the DDJ 1000 there isnt a dedicated button for swapping from vinyl to cdj mode, but that's all good. I believe that it is possible to map this option in the Keyboard settings on Rekordbox if you're feeling adventurous, but yeah looks like we have both learned something! 😀

I sold my Prime Go and bought the Omnis-Duo for one reason ... my use for an all-in-one like this is Ceremonies. The Omnis has Mic EQ, Prime Go does not. Also, you are incorrect about the Omnis not having autoplay... it does. In settings, under Play Mode, you can choose "single" or "continue". Continue mode will play the songs in order continuously just like the Prime Go. I say all of this with love & respect!
@SmilestonesDJAdventures6 ай бұрын
That’s cool Mike. I’m sure it will be a good tool for many, depending on your use case. (All this assuming they fix all the bugs) The autoplay you mention doesn’t function like you think. If you read the manual, you’ll see that it says that the Omnis will only load the next file in the playlist into the same deck that was playing. It does not play the track. I thought this was some error in translation for the English version of the manual or something 😂, so I tried it myself. Unfortunately, it was right, there is no auto play. But I think that this is something that could be easily enabled in the future. 🙏🏻 Have fun with yours bro!!
@MikeSinclairDJServices6 ай бұрын
@@SmilestonesDJAdventures My apologies. You are right, it just loads the track, but doesn't play it. I'm not sure why they would implement that like that... kind of dumb. Hopefully they enable that with a firmware update. Hmmm... or if Denon releases a Prime Go MK2 with Mic EQ, I'd probably jump all over that!
@SmilestonesDJAdventures6 ай бұрын
@@MikeSinclairDJServicesyes that’s kinda silly not to go ahead and play the track - but hopefully AT will add that functionality! Valuable for us wedding DJ’s 😜 Thx bro!!

@@SmilestonesDJAdventures its a little tricky if you never used a pioneer cdj before. continuous needs to be on and then on the deck auto que needs to be toggled on or off. I keep my master settings on continuous then auto cue on or off on the deck i want to keep playing. same on all their all in ones also
@xataum0076 ай бұрын
For the auto play to work you need to turn off the auto cue function. Because the auto cue "auto cue" the next song for you so even into auto play mode the auto cue will stop the next track to play 🫶🏽

I COULDNT AGREE WITH YOU MORE ON THE SAMPLER AND FX CHANNEL SELECTIONS. I posted on the pioneer suggestions forum for them to allow us to “midi map” either the bluetooth buttons or maybe a “shift”-function to the headphone channel selection 1 & 2 to switch between FX channels! it’s complete bullsh*t. How did they engineer this and it was a complete sweep past their mind? Like it’s a THREE TOUCH process every time you want to switch channels that’s very annoying… A lot of those bugs have been fixed with the new firmware update but I still like the unit regardless. Pioneer just needs to actually listen to suggestions and implement them like denon does.
@SmilestonesDJAdventures7 ай бұрын
Oh that’s great. And awesome that you have Pioneer the feedback. Hopefully they’ll listen to you and others, and improve the software to give us some improvements. Unfortunately some of the hardware decisions like lack of FX channel buttons, no dedicated browse back button, etc are not fixable through software changes I’ll keep fingers crossed for improvements to come quickly- maybe I’ll re buy some day. Thanks!!!

That’s not a bug it’s a feature used to adjust the timing. It’s a feature that only happens when you pause in jog mode. It’s a studder feature that’s been in pioneers CDJs since the 90’s

I hate that a lot of the controls are buried in tiny menus instead of having knobs and switches. I just don't understand a minimalist design for something that literally exists for hand and finger controls. I wouldn't get it anyways due to the price and design, but the glitches and bugs are unreal for any entry-level controller, let alone one at this price level.
@SmilestonesDJAdventures7 ай бұрын
Agree! The minimalist look actually might discourage physical activity with the controller - and probably limits the tricks people want to perform. It may look slick thought. I was truly hoping for a great rekordbox standalone controller here but it’s just not enough, for me at least.

I really liked the video. The software engineer in me wants to troubleshoot that issue you were having and see if it had anything to do with switch jog/vinyl mode while touching the job wheel, or if some smudge on the touch screen was moving it? It doesn't look gig ready yet... I like how clean it looks but I think the over use of the touchscreen was a misstep on this product

Its almost impossible to belive this unit comes from the biggest player in DJ gear Pioneer DJ/Alpha Theta. What did they think releasing this unit with all those bugs and at that price point? That their usual fanbase/fanboys would just hurry to nearest store and rip $1500 out of their bankaccount no matter what shit Pioneer DJ releases. This controller is way overpriced and as you demonstrated only "half cooked", AT´s RD-team needs to go back in "the kitchen" and make it SUPER delicious to justify the HIGH price. Thanks for the honest review, you bought it, with a pricetag of $1500, with your own hard earned money (vs CT, Spinelli and rest of the so called "unbiassed reviewers"), that makes this review much more trust worthy than what I´ve seen so far on KZbin. Thaks again, thats how a review should be done 👍👍👍

Well said bro! And thanks for that. I really was hoping it would be great but it’s just so expensive for what it offers (or doesn’t) - even if the bugs are solved. I agree with you!

@@SmilestonesDJAdventuresIn the past PioneerDj gear was SOLID and that could in some way justify the so called "Pioneer TAX" (overpricing), but I think they have gone too far now, prices are ridiculous compared to what their new products offer. Take a look at DJ Brettly youtube he bought 3 new pioneer controllers last year and has had problems with both the Rev5 and FLX10 and not much help from Pioneer support, result: he still does gigs with his trusty DDJ-1000.

So because you don’t have a use for it you presume it should be the same for everyone else! The Prime Go was a thousand dollars when it released 4 pre-pandemic years ago.
