It sounds like baby is cluster feeding and should pass in a bit. It’s really common at 3-4 weeks in age. It makes a lot of moms think they aren’t making enough when in fact they are!

Color coded eggs work really well to make a fair collection. Example Micah finds all the orange and yellow, Paige finds the pink and purple, when Lucas is bigger he looks for blue and green. That way they can help eachother and they can have favorite treats inside.

Have you tried giving him a bottle to see exactly how much he is actually taking in. Also start having dad give him a bottle at night so you can get a good stretch of sleep. Enjoy these times with the ADORABLE munchkins. They grow up so fast.😊
@rwilliamsmith1963 Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t have tried a bottle until your milk was fully in and he was at least 4 wks old but since he is now go ahead and start pumping after he feeds from one breast and then in the middle of the night have Daddy take a feeding. It will be great for all of you. He might feed a little longer and stay awake when he isn’t being cuddled and comforted by Mommy.

I'm no professional, but I have had 3 children and nursed all 3. I think you are right Jess. He is probably nursing for the comfort rather than eating to actually get full! He's so adorable! 😍🥰 Also I used the baby tracker app every time I nursed so I would remember which side I nursed last and the duration of each feed! It helped a ton and wasn't a huge inconvenience since I usually had my phone at arms reach!

Babies get belly cramps when they get too much foremilk and not enough hindmilk. Babies that snack tend to only get the watery foremilk vs the thicker hind milk. You can tell if there's an issue by looking for tiny seeds in his diaper. When they have a lot of seeds in there, it's a sure indicator that he is having tummy troubles. Foremilk comes quickly and is more.watery to satisfy a Babies hunger while the thicker more fatty Hindmilk comes after to help fill them up and satisfy them! Hope thst helps! Super easy fix! Good luck!😊

I totally relate with my son! My daughter was/is a wonderful sleeper since 1.5months( she’s 2 now ). My son is now Almost 1.5years old and is just beginning to sleep through the night! Before I tried milk before bed/ dream feeds/ food/snacks/ baths nothing worked! Hated his bassinet and wouldn’t sleep in his crib for longer than 30mins….I noticed it was ALL for COMFORT. My daughter is so independent and CRAZY and my son is sensitive- he’s a MAMAS Boy❤ definitely alot of differences transition to a girl mom to boy for sure! 🥰 that’s the Babyboy LOVE 💕

Easter memory for me: my paternal grandmother use to have clues to find our Easter baskets and they ALWAYS rhymed. One year we were visiting my maternal grandparents in North Carolina, I grew up in Wisconsin, so my mom had to take over writing the clues that year. One I will never forget was "it is getting hot so look where you keep your socks" 😜 My poor mom isn't known for her rhyming. I was around 8 that year and will be 52 this summer.

We went to my cousin’s house with the whole extended family for Easter this year. My 22 month old son is super into vehicles right now, and they have lots of 4 wheelers and such and a bit of land. My two male cousins were so careful and sweet with him (they both only have daughters), and they drove him around the house slowly. He had so much fun with them and was falling asleep by the end of the rides. Yes, I was super nervous, but they took super good care of him. It was so sweet.

The girls opening Easter eggs was so cute! Watching Paige's eyes get so wide/big and the "aww's" and "ew's" was so cute and funny. This Easter, my favorite memory was the Easter eggs seeming to multiply. My parents missed counted the number of Easter eggs that each of us kids/teens got, and they seemed to multiply! It was so funny, and we kept saying, "Is Jesus multiplying the eggs like he did the fish and bread during the feeding of the five thousand!" It was so funny! 😁

A little tip that I do for the littles with making sure everyone gets an even amount of eggs is to color code them. I leave a note from the Easter bunny and tell each kid what colors of eggs is theirs and that it's important that they only find their colors
@hannahalexandra7741 Жыл бұрын
growing up the easter bunny would designate certain color eggs to certain kids so that if you found a blue egg but your color was purple you would leave it for the other kid to find without fighting for who gets which eggs, older kid getting more eggs etc and it worked really well

I have had similar issues with my babies! Like you said, it doesn't sound like he has his nights and days mixed up, it sounds like he's just not getting in a great/full feeding. What I do with my babies is 2-3 bottle feedings a day. I pump, and they drink the bottle, and that way I know exactly how much they ate/if it was a good feeding, and they usually have a great nap afterwards which resets their eat/wake/sleep cycle and then the next feeding, if they nurse, it's usually another really good feeding!
@vickibryan6196 Жыл бұрын
You may have to pump more as we may not be eating more then what you think.. it’s why he’s snacking, though the night.. (My son did this, and it’s why my doctor suggested) and knowing the amount he drank worked to limit what could be it.. I only had one child but I know people who have had multiple and a lot of them say there baby boy always ate more.. some have said so much they had to their feeding before bed with formula so he had more of a fuller belly.

So cute watching the girls open their eggs and seeing their expressions! My favorite memories of Easter when I was little was going to my great-grandparent's house and having an Easter egg hunt in their backyard. I loved going to their house. Another favorite memory was my grandma taking me downtown to buy a new Easter dress. We went to lunch at a fancy restaurant. I think I was 5 or 6 years old. Such a sweet memory. And she used to make Easter basket cupcakes. She would dye coconut green and put that on top of the frosting to be the grass. Then she would put jellybeans on top to be the Easter eggs. And she put a pipe cleaner on the cupcake to make it look like a basket handle. They were so cute....and yummy! Love and hugs from Norway!

It can be snacking or it can be a bit of upset tummy. Sometimes when they act hungry when they’re not, they comfort nursing to sooth upset tummy. They may be gassy. Now, if you do notice them just snacking, you can try to encourage eating more fully and a little bit more often during the day and really push the full feedings during the night. For mine, clavo al tickles helped keep mine awake enough to eat fully at the nighttime feedings.

At his age Lucas is probably cluster feeding. But it is very difficult to tell the difference between hunger and just wanting comfort. In the end do what’s best for you guys, you just have to be careful that you’re not missing when hes actually hungry because it could limit how much weight he puts on.

My Niece had your same issue. Her DR. told her to pump and feed him with a bottle. She was able to better manage his volume per feeding. Putting her baby on the bottle except his in the night feeding helped her baby sleep longer. Her Pediatrician told her he wasn’t getting enough volume when nursing. I don’t know if this info will help but at least you have some additional knowledge.

Happy Day Austin and Jess, Micah, Paige and Lucas! And Maple too! My Easter story...I was in church with my family on Easter morning, I was 4. Even though we were supposed to fast before Easter Sunday Catholic mass, my mother let me bring jelly beans to Mass. Right in the middle of the Reverend's homily, I dropped my jelly beans all over the slate floor of the church, scattering everywhere. The entire congregation went no...... in Very hushed tones. On the way home my mom and dad stopped outside a store and got me a new bag of jelly beans. Oops. Talk about quick hop to it thinking by my parents. They have passed on now, please make a memory book so your family has those special moments written down, though the vlogs are a great way to remember not just your kids but also your own childhood memories. Peace be with you all! Love From NY, Lizzard with the upside down Xmas tree 🐰

I love to se how different people and countries celebrate easter. So fun to watch the kids running around and have fun. For Norway many will take the whole week off from work, schools close, easter lasts for 10 days. There will be snow, skiing, eating oranges and this chocolate that looks like a KitKat (but its not a KitKat). Gathering the family, watching crime on television, and do easter quizzes 😄 There will be barbequing and eating roast lamb. We also have easter eggs, but its a bit different than those tiny ones. We have bigger ones, and one egg is filled up with candy. Many do have an easter egg hunt, but with only that 1 egg, and each person needs to find their own.

Sometimes, it just happens that way. One baby is just going to have different sleep and feeding regimen. Or it could be that maybe he needs a little 'extra' in his milk. If you fed him via bottle, then maybe try adding a tsp of cereal to help him feel more satisfied. I know, it's not typical or normal to give food before 4-6 months of age. That was my pediatrician advice in Virginia. But this has to be something you guys decide what works best for you and baby Lucas!

My husband was a snacker as a baby so I made sure I stuck to a set schedule with our girly. Even during the day at first, I would feed her every 2 hours. That started giving us longer stretches at night. Then we stretched day feeds to 3 hours once girly started consistently having longer stretches. At night I would try to soothe her with a pacifier at first and rocking her bassinet, if she didn't settle after about 5 minutes I would feed her. By 8 weeks she started having 6 hour stretches at night.
