Such an informative video, brother. I learned a lot. I still think I’m going to go with the Pod 3, but the 4 improvements do look pretty nice.

I've been baffled that there aren't more competitors to this. This seems like such an open market for other companies to enter. Tons of people would probably want one of these if it was cheaper (although I think ~3k to improve 1/3 of your life is a good deal). The only two times I've tried autopilot I woke up sweating, which turned me off from ever trying it again. Maybe the algorithm has improved but it always makes it wayyy too hot. Especially in the summer I feel like it's not accounting for the fact my room can't even get below 75F. I need it to be ice cube mode. Our metrics seem mostly similar except my HRV range is 118-144 and can get close to 160. It averaged 67 when I got the Pod back in December and I think most of what I've done is improve my diet and drink alcohol wayyy less. I won't touch it for multiple weeks now. Not eating much after 4-5 PM also helps a lot for me and I average 15k steps a day. I know all of this is unsolicited but maybe it can help if you want to improve HRV!

Autopilot should only make interventions within the sleep schedule parameters you give it, so it might have been that the sleep schedule you made allowed it to go to high? I’m not sure. Alcohol is from what I seen the single most significant effecter of HRV

From my recent experience the algorithm hasnt improved. It's always either too hot or too cold, never just right which is what autopilot purports to provide but doesnt. So you're not using autopilot? What's the point of it then? It's literally then just a super expensive heating / cooling blanket.

Thank you for the review. I have been watching for a while and your video with the details helped me decide. I finaly bought the Pod 4 cover with enhanced subscription and used your code. Thanks

Really wish cool products weren't designed in expensive cities like NY and LA... Cost of living is regional. $2-4k might be reasonable in a place where everything is inflated to the point 1bed/1bed apartment will run you up $2-4k and six-figure salaries are relatively common. In the Midwest, this is an astronomical expense for a family of 3+. People struggle to afford a $10k used vehicle here. Separately I could never support a company that arbitrarily retracts its value proposition to a customer, removing locally ran software features should be illegal. I love the concept but 8 Sleep they have too many anti-consumer practices to give them support... even at the cost of worse sleep. Regardless, another great video!

I bought a sleepme doc pro in the summer of 2022. I'm still happy with my initial purchase but man was the reliability awful. By the summer of 2023, each of the units started leaking. Got them replaced under warranty. Come summer of 2024, each one was only cooling down to 8-10 degrees below room temperature (used to do about 20 degrees) so I gave up on the brand and purchased a Pod4. I've only had it for a few weeks but I hope the reliability is better.

Man I’m sorry, but yeah from my personal experience this thing kicks SleepMe’s ass in the reliability and maintenance department

I think more needs to be said about how they have changed their warranty with membership... The Pod 3 game with a lifetime warranty with membership and the 4 only comes with a 5 year warranty. That alone makes this NOT worth upgrading
@BrandonTalbot3 ай бұрын
They’ve made a lot of changes that diminish the value to the customer. I have a talk with the VP tomorrow to hopefully understand what’s going on.
@stevea36823 ай бұрын
@@BrandonTalbotPlease do and ask why if members are paying those fees why they wont keep a lifetime warranty. Because that is truly all that is holding me back. I mean why give up the lifetime warranty?

Appreciate the honesty for the obvious conflict of interest unless you are returning that bed and you return every product you get from them your reviews like anyone’s doing the same is influenced & biased. Good info, but Free Product = Can’t be trusted

nice video, I still have my chilipad since February 2020. Eight sleep is just TOO FUCKING EXPENSIVE. They should think implementing a cheaper version, like the Apple Watch SE, like a mini version for like 1000-1500$
@BrandonTalbot3 ай бұрын
Yeah I’d love that but unfortunately I don’t think that’s gonna happen. They don’t really see a need for it yet. Glad to hear your chilipad is going strong!!!

@@BrandonTalbot I don’t find it weird at all. what I do find weird is this obsession of optimisation. something truly obsolete… the best sleep you get is if you stop worrying about all these batshit insane metrics that some tech bro in california made up based on stuff he or she read in a journal.

@@BrandonTalbot Just calling out your disclaimer. Basically there should be a big banner saying it is a paid for promotion. Do you still have it on your bed? Have you turned off autopilot? Do you turn it off once you get into to bed and just use it to set the bed temperature before you get there? Sorry to be a pain but consumers should really know to take your review with a grain of salt.
@BrandonTalbot13 күн бұрын
Eight Sleep didn’t pay me to make this video. Or it would have been stated. Every time there has been a video where they have paid me to produce a video, I have stated so. To once again clarify what is shown in the video, since they gave me the product, in the YT back-end there’s a selection you make called “Paid Promotion” KZbin states if anything of value is given for the video to be made, money or otherwise “Paid Promotion” is selected. Yes I still have it on my bed. No I have not turned off autopilot. It runs along with autopilot throughout the night. You’re not a pain, you’re rude. Instead of asking a question you make an assumption. You want answers, lead with a question. Be mature. It’s normal to have suspicions, I expect you and everyone else watching to have them.
