I agree with the “less is more” concept. Especially with the diy concoctions. My Lord… it’s enough to cause anxiety, which will make one’s hair fall out. Going back to what worked, try to be consistent with a simple routine. Your hair is lovely.

I so so agree with you and I am so happy to see a YT touch on this issue. I stopped buying a lot of products for my hair about four to five years ago when I noticed, that none of them were making a difference in my hair. I went back to what used to work when my mother was doing our hair (added a few products), I have very dry hair and scalp so I started back using hair grease. I only use one product, I deep condition my hair once a month during shampooing, and I moisturize my hair daily with Aleo Vera juice, almond oil, and peppermint oil. Now because my hair tends to dry quickly, I use Shea Butter and oils mixed together three to four times a week and my hair is healthier than it has ever been, almost waist length. Now the one thing I noticed that I have been doing that I wasn't before (and it came about due to a serious medical emergency) is drinking a ton of water. I almost lost my life and the one thing the doctor told me to do was, drink at least 72 oz of water a day, this is when I noticed a lot of hair growth, great video and I pray that other natural hair ladies, listen and take heed.

OMG, from a woman to you as a woman you look like a Goddess Queen with that gorgeous natural hair and lovely looking looking face and cocoa skin. You are up their with the best of them. I so agree with you that black hair industry knows how desperate we are to grow our hair because we've had the least investment in our hair. Just look at TV adverts and that is still biased. However, all these new products like Miche etc claiming to be miracle products are a load of rubbish. I tried it and for the extortionate price it doesn't do anything. It's easy to achieve what they want us to think we can achieve when they are hairdressers and it's not like one can take a hairdresser out of ones bag at ones convenience. And yes, you don't have to use the same product from one line. Who sticks to that!! Thanks for the tip with the Jamaican Caster Oil as I've always thought rubbish of them - will try it. I was in awe when I saw your hair out with twist. You and a few other black women on KZbin have the hair going on that if you were on a Red Carpet amount the stars everyone's hair no matter what race would be background compare to yours, it's just beautiful hair looking. I learned that the hard way. Jojoba oil is great. I also tried baobab oil and OMG!! I swear it feels like it absorbs instantly but the moisture and how it makes your hair feel, just WOW. It's not cheap though but I love it. Love tea tree, it was my go to until I read about lemon myrtle essential oil. It's much stronger than tea tree so you use way less. Everyone should know from a basic chemistry course that all haur textures are different and on different human bodies some people may be allergic, heat sensitive, water sensitive, alcohol drying etc. All of these products that influencers twll people not to buy just because they say "i got 4c hair DOESNT mean its gonna work for your 4c or mixed/blended hair. Every also doesnt just have 1 hair texture i have a combination of 3 when i let my hair grow out. Id say find what works and feels right on your head. And when i mean "feel right" i mean qualitative data. Does it work well enough that your scalp tingles in the right way? But Is it itchy? Does it burn? Give you rash? Cause bleeding? Acne? Dont use em and pay attention to what is the common denominator behind those "bad" shampoos and conditioners. The same ingredient might be present in all of them so its really not the brand but that particular ingredient that damages your hair and injure your scalp.

If you live in a hot and humid area, you need more than oil or butter to set your style because they have no hold agents. You need a strong hold gel or cream based on the density and texture of your hair else your style won't last for 10 mins. Ingredients to look out for include Polyquaternium- 69, Polyquaternium- 55, Vp/va copolymer, Pvp, Acrylate Copolymer etc.
@preciousfro2 жыл бұрын
I respectfully disagree. I don't try to force my hair to do anything that it doesn't want to do or maintain any curl pattern that it doesn't want to. Gels can be very drying so I stay away from them. My focus is health of my hair first and reducing product build up.
@uberhaute_naturalz842 жыл бұрын
@@preciousfro Don't get me wrong; I'm not trying to force my styling option on you or anyone however, based on my experience as someone that lives in a highly hot and humid place, I've had my style go limp within 2 mins of styling and leaving the house because I used only butter. So I researched and all the results I got was to use a product with hold or humidity blocker I've tried it and it worked perfectly (this also includes grease which I've tried as well👌🏿) Not all gels are created equally. There are botanical gels and for synthetic gels, I use a leave-in under it and a little oil to break the crunch. 💖

I understand what you're saying, I think since I'm looking to reduce product buildup as much as possible and keep my routine simple I would never consider a gel. I just accept my hair wanting to be poofy or frizzy in humidity. But i'm glad you have a routine that works for you!
