Dip your brush in Gum Arabic and let it dry or a day or two. Rinse it off and it should behave itself.

I believe this is the first time I've tried watercolor since grade school. I only had one brush, used a watercolor set my son won at the library last year, (better than crayola, but not great) and paper from a spiral notebook. My tree looks vastly different than yours, but you can tell it's a Christians tree! Great tutorial, especially on how to paint a star! I'm so proud of this I might just hang it on the fridge!
