The special thing about this original track is that it contains polyrhythms and has a 7/4 drum beat / time signature! There was a lot of hype around this track and people like Nawtystep, Virtual Riot and Josh from Modstep reacted to this tune publicly. There were also a lot of polyriddim drum covers and edits of this tune.

Personally I find the VIP to be a bit more enjoyable, but it's also way more forgettable than the original. That part at 1:08 is amazing, though. I feel like, he should've made a separate track, and stick to the vibe of that. Doesn't really feel like it belongs in here.

Your friend just spotted exactly my issue with Polyriddim as a whole: I can't follow the flow Like, after listening to the original song by Phonon a few times you can kinda follow the flow of the melodies and stuff and there's enough time for you to process the rhythm change (for the most part, in some sections I still have trouble) In this VIP track happens the same thing. In the first part of the drop I can follow decently well the flow of the pads and vibe to it, but the second part is just pure insanity, I just can't XD But yeah, Polyriddim is a track that I respect more than enjoy. Props though to the breaks in both tracks that sounded really sick
