I had a solo hunt like this except it was an elk hunt. In 2018 I was 64 years old and hunted by myself. I was able to find the elk, stalk close enough to get a good shot. I was then able to get the elk back to my truck and get it loaded by myself. I thought I was going to have a heart attack and they would find my dead body lying with that of the elk but I made it. There is a primal feeling I can never forget and even though I've hunted elk all my life and have been very successful I will never forget that hunt.

Solo-packing an elk is no joke! I have yet to do that, but I certainly understand the struggle! It's the worst and best feeling mixed into one!

@SamongOutdoors Жыл бұрын
@@ServeNProtect I honestly have never had an issue with glasses. What exactly are you dealing with? Are you unable to see clearly through the scope, or just simply having a hard time to put the bullet in the right spot?
@aetimberpine Жыл бұрын
@@SamongOutdoorshey samong, because of your videos I want to get back into hunting and get my kids started. After your gear dump, would you consider making a getting starred video. What do you think we should focus on first as we get started. Since hunting season is pretty much over, what could we slowly start getting first? Gun, pack, camo, etc. Thank you and blessing brother!
@MrGT311 ай бұрын
@aetimberpine don't worry about camo. The highend gear is great, but not at all necessary. Get a nice frame pack and good boots if you are doing backcountry hunts. I prefer Exo packs, but Stone Glacier, Kuiu, Kifaru, Mystery Ranch, etc. all make good packs.

This is inspirational content. I'm 66 and currently not fit enough for hunting that involves serious elevation. But this content inspired me to start walking 10K three times a week with a weighted back pack to regain some fitness for at least one more alpine hunt.
