Great return! I cracked a SGC 9.5 rodgers rookie and it came back a 9. IMO rodgers rookie cards great investment before the season starts

I really didn't grade cards until my local shop began submitting cards on customers' behalf. This year, I have submitted (and gotten back) 15 cards, 13 of which came back 10s. I'm spoiled so far. Waiting on more. I'm more of a ripper than a singles buyer or like you said, I buy singles to grade them.

I find it insane that PSA 9s go for the same as raw or often less when you think with most sp cards would of already been looked over and 95% of raw cards would probably grade 7 to 9 anyway where with a Psa 9 you are guranteed a solid quality card without the surprises

Yeah something up at PSA lately I believe. For awhile my subs of 20+ cards were getting a 10 or 2, some nines and 8 and even 7's. I've not changed my scrutinizing of cards at all but my last two submissions have been all 9's and 10's....with even more 10's than 9's. Obv I'll take it but makes you wonder.....

Love the content! What do you look for in the pictures of raw cards to end up buying it? Also, what, if any, prep do you do to them before submitting?

It's definitely a crap shoot when sending in cards to grade. I bought some PSA 10 Scoot Prizms and some I don't know how they got a 10 but they did. I am sending in a Scoot Courtside Cosmic that has a back dimple on the back bottom edge but the front looks perfect. I have to chase the upside and have to know what it'll grade lol.

I submit through my LCS so i dont get a personal box or anything and we go over all the subs together. Gonna be honest dont really see the point in blind reveals or having to open a sub box on camera. Its not like a sealed pack of cards

Wicks' market is insane right now. I wanted to grab a few cards before the season, but I'll have to wait and hop it cools off. It's a tough position to take as a Packers fan, because for his market to cool off, it probably means he's not playing so well.

I buy a lot on ebay. Always hard to tell if there are surface issues so i really look at centering, corners and edgers, and pray that the surface is good

It's called 'The Hobby' not 'The Investment.' Anyone looking at the hobby as an investment is both missing the point and failing to see all the better ways to make more money faster in other avenues.

I agree. Investing in the hobby isnt a real thing especially when it comes to buying players and hoping they do well. Its too tough to call. But there are avenues to make money in the hobby and buying raw and grading is one of them. I just do it on a smaller scale than people bigger in the hobby do than me
