You can for sure have crystal clear water in full sun just limit nutrients in the water and maybe run UV in your sump. If the water is low enough nutrient you won't need UV but, I don't know how easy it would be with the fish and also depending on the trace elements in the gravel. I think you need a wheel barrel :) love the show as always !

If you want to breed bettas you have to prepare de environment some plants and wate like 3 days if the nest is not built up yet get another betta male or female

I have a female full of eggs, but won’t embrace with male. She follows and checks out the nest, but leaves the area. She spends more time looking for food than anything else. She also dropped a few eggs and made her own bubble nest to put them in. So she’s definitely ready, she’s pretty mellow and the first male I paired her with she didn’t do anything.. he was a little more aggressive, so I found I have a mellower male and still nothing. Any ideas, so far it’s not a male issue it’s her 😂

Hello Dexter, two days ago I have tried to crossbreed my male Crowntail betta with my female Plakat betta. Yesterday, the male had already build his bubble nest so I assumed he was ready to mate with the female betta. Today, the female has laid eggs and she still has an egg spot under her belly. I wonder when should I remove the female betta from the male? Should I remove the female betta once there is no egg spot seen under her belly? And how can I know if the male has picked up the eggs into the bubble because I can still see some eggs being left around in the tank.
