That music you used... I heard it on 'The Purge' series!

Good stuff. I have never done a true big day and want to give it a try sometime soon. I was curious, how do you get the shots with the bird in a scope? Are you using a scope and special camera or is that just something you add afterwards while editing? What do you use to edit your videos? Thanks!

Great video as always. I passed through so-cal a few years back when I visited the USA, but wasn’t a birder then. I am sad now that I missed the opportunity! What do you use for your telescope video? Is that just your camera with a zoom lens on? Plenty of slow-mo shots when you were walking shirtless. Haha. You worked hard for that rig. You definitely should let the ladies admire it.

Evan and I are planning a trip out to San Diego in the next year or two, we’ll definitely have to put the Salton Sea on our list of places to visit! That looks like a pretty productive start to a big day, the Gambel’s quail and greater roadrunner were great finds and the abundance of water bird species there is incredible. Too bad about the yellow-legged gull giving you the slip, hopefully the epic burrowing owl sightings made up for it. Looking forward to part 2! - Harrison and Evan

Great video, enjoyed being along for your big day. Hope to get out to visit some family in CA, so many cool new birds for a midwesterner.

Last time I was there I didn’t see many birds. I heard there are less and less lately 😢

Wow, this is cool. I do the Big Days 3-4 times a day too. My personal record is 113 species a day but usually little over hundred. It's a fun challenge! 👍🙂

Man, I love birding Salton Sea. Also, I know this was summer, and it's only part one, but Cattle Call Park in Brawley has one of the westernmost spots to see Gila Woodpeckers.
