What a great haul 💕 I hope you have a good time Paris! You may have already read it but have to recommend A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway, its about his time in Paris in the 1920s and the authors, artists and people he knew, he goes to cafes and art galleries, and describes Paris in such an interesting way. It's not very long, but I found it to be very satisfying.

Oooh I actually have not read it! Thank you for the recommendation, definitely adding it to my list 💞

Naaaaah!!! The accusation in misogyny hurted me:) Read the Pot-bouille by Emile Zola you'll get the male version of Nana! (And if you liked it, continue with the Au bonheur des Dames -- The Ladies' Paradise... and you will find yourself in the rabbithole of the Rougon-Macquart) Very nice haul!

oooh okay! I wasn’t sure what to read of his next but I’ll definitely keep an eye out for that one, thank you! ❤️

also I realized that for some reason my brain keeps equating Zola with the character Muffat so I think that’s where my misogyny accusation comes in the play - I definitely have so more reading of his to get to!

@@romneyellen I understand, Zola is definitely good in writing hateable characters (and loveables too). Oh, and the Ladies Paradise or The Belly of Paris are very interesting for the history of Paris! But if you want some lighthearted French contemporary cuteness for the lightweight moments in Paris read the books of Antoine Laurain!
