I just spent three weeks in the province, karaokes at full volume going till 3 am some nights , dogs barking continuously, rooster's from 2 am, motorbikes with no exhausts revving at all hours for no apparent reason. I'm a patient guy, to be honest you get used to it and it's not an issue unless you need quiet for online work or something.. I forgot to mention the stench of the pigsty smells

Good video. Im always turned off when someone tells me they are loaded and dont need the money. Usually its the opposite on both counts. I have known and still know some people who are seriously wealthy and they never talk about their wealth. In Australia u are regarded ( by most )as a wanker if u bignote yourself about money.

Just listening to this video with all the NOISE is driving me CRAZY!! I live in the country in the US and it is dead still. In fact it is sometimes too quiet that it is spooky, as you feel you are the only person on the planet. Just ridiculous!! Why do they like noise ?? I love to be quiet and be able to read a nice novel. I love my peace and quiet. Unreal.

Lesson here is think about the weather. Rainy season is always a problem with roads. Smart people in Subic live inside the base. Even though it is more expensive it has western infrastructure which means no rain, electricity or water problems.

@@timtarr9364 It's not like that everywhere. The 1st world bubbles of BGC, Makati, Cebu IT Park, and around Cebu Ayala are just fine. There are other areas that are pretty good as well and not as expensive, such as Angeles City. I would imagine living within various smaller cities is ok too, such as Davao, IloIlo. In areas with frequent power problems you can look for places that have generators.

Simon has enough money, I think he should get SRRV as that would waive the clearance requirement. (Basically, it is for non-criminals so the background check and the deposit amount to a form of clearance, imo.)

I’m with you mate - I’d have just stayed too. For the sake of making the most of what’s left of the contract, it’s not worth the hassle and court appearances etc. Bit of a pain for your girlfriend if she needs a reliable connection though.

It is all part of the learning curve, the most unfair rental contracts I have ever read. Even warranties on purchases are worth Jack Sh1t. I bought an expensive router in Asus store at SM, the AC adapter packed up within 2 months and they didn't have a spare one (even secondhand). The store manager said we will send it to Asus Manila for them to fix or replace and you will get it back in 3 months! FFS what is the point of a warranty there

Yeah, I've noticed the warranties here aren't great. I brought an expensive vlogging camera when I first got here and reasonably expected a 1 to 2 year warrenty given the price and all they gave me was 3 months 😮

@ I was in need of a new MacBook Pro for the last year that I was living there but was not happy about spending a few grand (£) and there are no real Apple Stores there to give good back up with the customer service and warranty. I was going to wait till I arrived back in UK but I did get a damn good deal on the way home in Hong Kong. The Max version of the MacBook Pro was £800 cheaper than UK and included the Apple 3 Year international backed warranty. Had to do the deal with that saving!

Yi thought i had problems here in Cebu . . Council scraped tge road outside the house and managed to short out our sevice cable, sparky charged 5,000 ps plus ekectric bill of 16,000. Thats 11,000 above qverage bill. Welcome to the wild west and dodge city with dodgy companies. At leaat yiu cheered me up knowing theres another expat in the shite, feel better knowing im not the only one.

You should get your own Lawyer and then also talk to the local Barangay, as Allot of these local landlords are TERRIBLE as I am a Landlord in USA for over 20 years and even with contracts they just don't know how to operate a Business and never admit ANY mistakes.. My other best advice is to Record Everything as i had my landlord try to Overcharge me on Electric bill and then fail to give me receipts so I Always document it and have a witness Literally watch the transaction. Keep complete records and also realize you can put charges against them too

Ya sound like your new to the Philippines. Before renting u moniter the area and property always. U always never sign a contract in the province unless its short term 3 months. I just find rentals on the main road with month to month rentals. But the rental is a rental propertie. So then u can stay 1 month or 10 yrs. Electric and water cut off everywhere in the Philippines. Even cebu and manila areas. Get solor or a generator. Get big tubs for bathrooms and kitchen and keep them filled with water.

a good solicitor will wipe the floor with him and recover costs too, i would speak to a few solicitors the courts are pretty fair and providing you got proof via rent receipts and emails etc he wont have a leg to stand on.

I living in the provincial Mindanao, We lucky with brown outs,but power poles are covered by trees that grow like crazy along the mountain roads. They very low compared to back home the other morning a big truck pulled some of the neighbors lines down.This on the main mountain access road. They doing their best at supply,they come out quickly to do repairs even in bad weather. We have rented many places never once with a lease.Why not do the same

Where ever you go, just rent Air BNB for a short term first,. Like 2 weeks or a month in the area that you want to live in. Then do your research and ask around about the noises, dogs karaoke and flooding in area during raining season. Everybody is getting old and don't have time for any hardship occurs while renting a place. If this dude does his homework, then there would be no KZbin about this problem right?

Sorry everything is turning to shit for you, it isn't a reflection on everyone there. Most leases there put all liability on the renter ... Anything to do with money, you cannot trust them. Maybe some road/dirt tires will help with your travels? Southern Mindanao doesn't get any real typhoon damage apart from some of the rains, something to consider. And have a shave, lookin a bit fuzzy wuzzy there ... Lol
