When I started my driving lessons I remember feeling so frustrated when I did something wrong and even felt anxious when I was on my way to driving school. As time went by and as I got more practice I became very comfortable driving so as you said at some point we will be beginners at something, it is hard to get out of the comfort zone but when you look back you will always be happy that you were strong enough to do it.

One interesting thing about these “what I regret” or “what I would do different” is that it shouldn’t be about “I wish I did things differently” because that totally misses all of the growth that you have gone through throughout your life. The way I see it, if you are in a part of your life and you have things that you would do differently, that just means that you grew as a person! How boring would it be if as soon as you are born until the day you die you were perfect in every way? Growth is what life should be about, not “already being perfect”… As is often said: “it’s all about the journey.” So don’t feel bad if you have regrets. It just means that you are a better version of yourself.

Very well said. Whenever I find myself regretting something I check in and often find that when I'm objective it's because I said yes to something instead, and got great value from that thing I also said yes to. Every decision you make says yes and no to something, and usually you end up growing from it in the end.

As a 30 year old that used to think this way... age is just a number man. Life won't end at 30. More likely, you won't even feel much of a difference. Just enjoy your existence and do small things each day which will add up towards your goals.

Love this. Fear is such an enigma…it feels so massive and daunting, but in the end, it’s mostly in your head. Thank you for sharing this. Feel the exact same way.
@FranksCreativeCorner3 жыл бұрын
I think I'll need to repeat this to myself every day, until it's drilled down in my head. God, not a day goes by without me regretting not having done what I set out to do the day before, out of fear! I'm 20 and I live in fear. It's exactly how Matt explains: I'm terrified of trying new things, failing, not meeting my expectations, not being perfect... Although I recently started working on it, I put myself under so much pressure that many times that terror takes over, and I end up postponing in some way what I have to do. I know that I will never be perfect, and that as they say, "you have to jump in before you are ready", but still it's often very difficult to put myself into action. PD: Sorry everyone, I just felt like I had to take out my frustration somewhere. I'm actually making progress in the matter, you know, slow and steady, and I'm happy with it. It's just, there are some moments when I fail to control myself, it's so frustrating. It feels like I'm going backwards everything I have advanced, or like I'm never going to achieve what I set out to do.

Hi buddy quick comment here I'm 21 never being on a relationship before, always had a crush on a girl decided to ask her out. She said yes and we were in a relationship for six months being honest not sad at all after it ends up. Since I went out of My confort zone and went very well it was a learning and a nice experience to me. Recommmend to not be afraid and just going for it. Otherwise, You will be thinking what would've happened if?... Just keep it up you got it.

"right now" doesn't apply to something that needs a lifetime, those things are simply part of our human nature, you'll always worry, you'll always doubt yourself, and always live in the past, thinking this way is what make people give up and stress out to about life, no one is a machine or super human, you only can do your best to not let these things control your life and be a handicap :)

I'm 26 and only just now I'm starting to get some courage and be less stressed out about what people might think of me. I always think that people are constantly on the lookout for mistakes I would do, but truth be told, either those people don't even know who I am and we'll never meet again, they won't remember my mistakes or I don't even care what they think of me. Everyone is mostly concerned about themselves, instead of worrying about others, so I shouldn't worry about what others think of me if I'm not even on their radar. And why would I stop myself from enjoying life just because of reasons and stories in my head that aren't even real

I really want to make the most out of high school. I don't really know what's going on with my current relationships, but I want to keep doing well academically, and talk to new people again. I remember letting fear control me in elementary school. I would sit alone outside because I was so afraid of what others thought of me, let alone talking to others. I'm a little older now, and I've learned a lot along the way, and I may have been alone for a while, but I know I can talk to people. Friends are just so special, and I get a bit jealous of my brother that's going into grade 12. He has a lot of good friends, yet here I am, going to grade 10 with one best friend.. Meh, I'm not going to let that hold me back. (I really need a journal.) Heck, I even let fear control me in grade 9!!! But even so, through the inner battle of my overwhelming thoughts, I went to talk to people with confidence. I don't want to be the fear-controlled girl I once was. It just feels so liberating to be myself, and it motivates me so much.

This was a very insightful video. I agree that the biggest fear you should have is not living up to your full potential. Covid has allowed me to really think about where I am/was, and where I wanted to be. I’ve really worked on myself this past year because of this. Whenever I feel fearful of something I tell myself “the world has never been changed by someone who conforms themselves to live a normal and safe life”. Love the video matt, keep inspiring young minds!
