I’ve owned 14 bikes from a Honda Valkyrie to a turbocharged ZX14R and now I’m on a Desert Sled, I’ve taken it on mountain roads through the Carolinas, I’ve been out in the Rockies in Colorado off roading and it really is a very well rounded bike. No regrets on my purchase. Only down side I’d particularly call out is it doesn’t have as much lean angle as it does confidence, but for a 70/30 bike it checks all my boxes. Definitely get an exhaust, and some shorty levers and it really is a fantastic bike to “Scramble around”.

I’ve got a normal Duc scrambler, it shares most of the same bits as this bike aside from some frame modifications and suspension (the normal Duc is 50lbs lighter). Here’s the bad about it… - the engine heat gets unbearable over 80F - the hardware on the bike is cheap and strips easily - the valves will go out of adjustment fairly easily - desmo valve service is indeed more expensive - the dash sucks
@BredaxeАй бұрын
Hey Dan, I've had one before. They are not the Ducati of old. It's just as reliable and the service interval are the same as Japanese bikes now. I really want a scrambler 1100 now

I have a 2017 desert sled, it's my first bike and will probably keep it for many more years. It's such a fun bike and I rarely off road it. There's many complaints about the rear brake, and in fact if you let it sit for a week or so the rear brake goes away completely and you gotta pump it and sometimes unscrew the res cap to release vacuum it creates from pumping and then it works again, the system isn't completely sealed or something. I'm 51 yrs old and absolutely love hooning around the hood on the Sled. I deleted the cat and put a Leo vince onto it and it's much better sounding. The cat is like 20 lbs too so weight reduction.

Overall I think it's a cool looking bike. Now, that being said how practical is it on the fun side of things. I'd wanna be able to go off road throw dual sport tyres on it. It just looks rigit af the frame looks stiff everything looks stiff. That's what is throwing me off looking at it, looks like it could be fun but would also break going off a small jump.
