MY BIKE ROUTE TO COPENHAGEN in detail explained - My bike route from The Netherlands to Copenhagen!

Heyy and welcome to my channel! My name is Elizabeth and on my channel I share my bike and travel adventures. Including my tips and mistakes related to those topics ;) I am currently sharing my bike ride from the Netherlands to Copenhagen on my channel. And because I received some questions about this route in this video, I will go into more detail about the details of this route. So this will be an interesting video if you plan to cycle to Copenhagen yourself or if you want to know how to design your own route!

35 years ago I bought a used Batavus in Amsterdam and rode thru Belgium, Luxembourg, France until got to be with my family in Genoa, Italy.

Wow that sounds like an amazing trip! How long did it take you approximately? 😊

@@ElizabethHoefkens it was summer 1989. I bought panniers and Michelin maps (they were/are? VERY, VERY detailed). Used secondary/country/ farm roads to avoid traffic as much as possible. Stopped in Paris for France 200 years celebrations. Used 100% Youth Hostels. Not a single flat tire! About 45 days bc of the long Paris stay at a friend in the University's dorms. And to ENJOY the daily ride.

That is really impressive! I can’t imagine going on a bike trip with only a map to navigate. (It does however sounds like a great challenge 😅) And perhaps having no flat tire the whole way is even more impressive 😂 It really sounds like a great trip! I guess you have lovely memories of that trip ☺️

Great trip Gem 🚲👍 I also used Michelin folding maps when I started cycle touring, before the internet was invented 😁
