Interesting! Those I’ve seen usually cut a +/- quarter inch slice off and place that into an empty watercolor pan. Then they proceed to use it as a watercolor. Apparently it’s a cost effective alternative to buying tubes. You’d have the same results as working with dry pans of paint. Less messy 😮😅!

I could, but I have tubes of all these colors. It wasn't so much a cost effective move, although it’s a great idea. I wanted to be able to use them in more linear way. Lots of possibilities! 😊

They are pure watercolor. One stick is the same amount of 3 full pans. I’ve never used them like a watercolor crayon.

Art hauls are so much fun. I've never heard of the watercolor sticks... I'm assuming you use them like the (watercolor) pencils? P. S. I would love to see a plein air with them, and I like the abstracts. Thanks Trin 😊❤

Thanks Linda! They are like a tube of paint in a stick form. You can use them just like paint by rubbing a wet brush on them or dip them in water and draw wth them. They definitely work better on wet paper. I don’t think they work as well dry and then wet with a brush. I will keep playing with them! 😁
