Couple of points - the price you quote for the parts would increase a lot if bought from BMW and there is a lot of experience needed to buy good parts at the right price. Second point is that your 114k subs must include a fair few who would buy your car at a "retail" price just to know they were getting a good one. I appreciate the attraction of showing us new stuff rather than a succession of M5 refurbs so I presume the KZbin money is more attractive than just doing multiple M5 recoveries. Channel "M539 Restorations" seems to combine both successfully with his many V12 BMWs.

Good job restoring this car. I had a 2008 in 2017 when it was just 9 years old and I had to replace things like the oil cooler and suspension. I got rid of it when it started going into limp mode so it could have been rod bearings, SMG issues, etc...

Man!!.. that car is a REALLY awesome looking car.. Some cars just have "lines" that are just timeless. BMW has a few models that make me feel that way.. Brandy-wine red.. deep nice color. VERY classy. Nice vids and camera.

I have a 08 550i (White) and I’ve probably spent close to $2000 just in tires over the years (I live in NYC so that should explain a lot) and that’s with having a rim and tire insurance package for the first 3 years of ownership (bought in 2013 for over $30,000 with just over 50,000 miles). Probably another $4 to $5 grand in other repairs too, (ECU water damage, alternator, brakes obviously & rotors, water pump, and just recently dropped a grand last week to repair a couple of O rings that caused me sever heart palpitations when I thought I struck oil in my driveway but it was just a solenoid O ring leak, the parts cost next to nothing, it was the labor that destroyed me). So yeah outside of that the car is awesome and I’m not being sarcastic, the ECU I blame on myself but now that I’m aware of it it’ll never happen again (fingers crossed 🤞, lol), if you can do the repairs yourself then right on but you better know what you’re doing because if not you know the end result, better have AAA.

Anyone thinking this is expensive or is a ‘BMW only’ issue are living on another planet and don’t know what Luxury performance cars cost to maintain and run... it’s just the price you pay to run a heavy luxury performance with 500+bhp. There is not one brand or car that doesn’t require the same. This was was neglected by the previous owner(s), most of the work should have been done of a few years, not left for one big bill. This is now one sorted car ready to go on for another 10 years with just normal servicing and maintenance.

I think someone who knows that car and understands it has been sorted out by a professional would gladly pay 25k. Realistically I still think closer to 20k. One thing is you are never going to see an engine like that engine, and the e60 is the best looking chassis and certainly has aged well. All I know is I would much rather have a 150k mile BMW than a brand new Honda, but that's just me. Awesome Job with that car. Sounds amazing.
