Was the box it came in all beat up? I just bought this boat, it cams from the US warehouse, and the shipping box, as well as the boats box was really beat up with big gashes in them. Fortunately, the boat was fine. I watched another video on this boat, and his was pretty beat up as well. I bought the PNP version and used my Traxxas TQI system. Today will be it's maiden. Also using a bigger battery, so I need to add weight to the other side to balance it out.

That's a shame.. that boat had potential. Just FYI, that boat hull is called a Catamaran and the Miss Seattle that Abby mentioned is a Hydroplane. So technically Nate was correct, you've never had that style of boat on the channel before. Thumbs up for running it even though it was broken! :)

That hull is completely savable. Go to your local hardware store in purchase a quart of MEK. Methyl ethyl keystone. Since it is made from ABS plastic you can chemically weld the crack shut with MEK. MEK melts ABS. Tape the flap down so you no longer see the crack and with a small needle and syringe, flow the MEK into the crack. It will work its way around through capillary action. Keep it taped up for about two days to allow the chemicals to escape and the plastic will return to its original state....no more crack. I have built many airboats using this technique.

Agree with some people: get it replaced and give it another go. I understand that you drove quite a stretch to this location to test out the boats (and cars) you did over the past days (with Nate wearing that same Millennium Falcon shirt for 'days' LOL) and you just want to be done with things. Shipping issues can always occur, but on their own they don't make a product bad imo. This looks like a very capable boat which I think deserves a second chance. Just my five cents worth :-)

When fixing a boat like that you want to avoid any repairs that add weight. Even the smallest amount of weight in a little boat like that can make it lean to one side. Best fix for a boat hull like that is plastic weld. Very little new plastic is needed if any mostly just melts the plastic along the broken seam and it seals itself back together again.

Yeah this should be a pretty easy fix and we would have probably tried to fix it before driving it and reviewing it but we drove about five hours to be at this lake and dint even see the crack till we got out and ready to go 😢

I wish I had seen this video two weeks ago as I just bought this boat. I have only used it a few minutes because being a horrible driver, I managed to break the drive shaft. It seems to be pretty fast ( not miss frivolous fast), and is fun to drive. It however doesn’t have a very good range on it. I had to paddle out to retrieve it. I also couldn’t get it to reverse, I am still figuring that out. I guess the only thing I really can say is that it seems fast!!

It is a nice looking boat🛥, but as someone said looks kinda flimsy. You could get a replacement or use aquarium sealant to glue it together instead of tape. Good, short ,water logged🌊🌊 review. 😊😊😊

Fix it with a slow setting 2 part epoxy resin, but mix in some talc powder to thicken the resin to a white paste (gives it something to bond too, will set much stronger and more durable) You can also reinforce it by adding cotton wool or spreading the epoxy over some fiberglass scrim mesh tape. Leave it 72h to fully cure. Works really well on abs hulls

Nice fix recipe!, I use almost a similar mix... I use 30 min. epoxy mixed with baking soda, And sometimes I use fiberglass drywall tape and shoo goo depending on the repair.

one option you can do in the future if this happens is, put a hole at the rear on the back where the rudder mounts, but where it will be below the water line, or very near it, real boats have this, and what happens is, once your at speed the water will come out of the hole in the back, as long as it is letting out more water then is coming it, and you maintain your speed, you wont gain water. course stopping or going in reverse will be a very bad thing.

If you decide to keep it Stabilite express.will fix the hole. It’s a 2part glue that would stick shit to shit rock hard I used to be a modeller in my youth I had a few RC Boats. One of which Looked nearly identical to this one, it was a Yellow catamaran called PAROLI made by Robbe. It ran on two 540 Brushed motors and took two 7.2v nicad 6cell pack. They mounted in to a frame with a big gear on each driving a smaller pinion on the prop shaft. It was quite a cool boat.

hi guys im an Aussie fan, Ive got this boat huge and my volantex atomic is fast! must just be your luck with boats was due for a stoke of bad luck or something as yours is the first most people have herd of being broken?? the only real thing people dont like is the lack of self righting feature, but the volantex atomic boat in my country is way cheaper than the barbed wire boat that I origonally wanted, it is an honest boat that you would need a good low budjet recovery boat to take out with it but you guys would have those by the boat load lol.. just thought id mention this as my veiw of it is positive if youre ok with cheaper and no self righting, still a massive fan i LOVE the boat week stuff keep up the good stuff. I like that boat . You need to get some good glue and seal it up. And run it again. If you put on the Ebay store i have to keep my eye open for it. That boat is a Catamaran Boat. has to Hulls on each side open in the middle. I had a reel boat that was a Catamaran it wasn't a race boat it was a big lake boat.

Nate. ALWAYS carry a card of dollar store glue with you in the glove box. Looks like a great boat. Not very sturdy though. Looks like the material is thin. Could you let us know how the warrenty works. I got my return on my plane finally. I ordered it from another supplier in New York and I got it in 3 days. You could send that boat to me.lol.
