The massage is to prevent crepadus. (Maybe the wrong spelling) But it is to prevent the air bubbles from causing problems to your spine. Which would be far more painful...

I was the same way! You’re sitting so no worries. They also give you this big glucose tab if you want it and you can sit until you feel confident to walk!
