i’m from guam and our version of duende is basically here in guam there’s a lot of jungle and there are like wild mushrooms so the superstition is that if you step on the mushrooms the duendes will take you. And i’m honestly a firm believer in that. i do not mess with things like that like just me talking about it is making me like sort of scared in a way.

and there is a superstition called the toatoa mo’na. and it’s basically these trees with really big roots and basically these trees hold like spirits from ancestors. and if you go onto someone’s land with a toatoa mo’na tree they’ll like pinch you, and i have a cousin who was playing with his friends in his land and his friend got pinched by the toatoa mo’na.
