Took me 7 times to pass my test. I just crumbled under the test conditions, until I finally had a lovely examiner that chatted to me and it just completely relaxed me and I passed with 2 minors

I have OCD and one of my compulsions is nail cutting. I cut my nails every second night to the point that there's nothing left to cut. They're not scabby or chewed or damaged looking but they are short. I can't get my nails done because I'd want to cut them the next day. 😭 I simply use an extremely light pink nail varnish and make sure to file any jagged edges. You can still have nice looking hands/nails as a shortie. However, I wish I could get my nails done occasionally as I love the look of a short french tip. If my weird brain ever changes, I'll do it!

I'm just listening to the part about nails and wanted to add a little something... I'm a qualified nail technician and gel allergies have become huge over the past couple of years following people using at home kits, and now so many people can't get their nails done anymore which can make them feel so down - I've always noticed, even on MiC, that Sophie has never had her nails done and equally thought wow her hands look beautiful with no manicure, so I always tell people who are feeling like they hate their nails now to look at Sophie 🫶🏻

I developed a nail allergy after doing gels at home. I thought it was just me! I did them for about a year at home and suddenly they started causing me issues. Do you know why people get allergies and do they ever go away?!
@kirstyphillips47419 ай бұрын
Oh I'm so sorry about this! Unfortunately, they don't go away, and depending on what specific ingredient your allergy is to, you may also not be able to have certain dental procedures etc. The best thing to do is be very persistent with your GP in that you want an allergy test to find out what it is, for example, many people suffer with a HEMA allergy, but there are so many HEMA free gel polishes available now so you'd potentially still be able to have your nails done. Allergies can occur at any time, typically it's because the product is undercured or gel has had contact with your skin - if you want to do more research then have a Google as there's so much info, but most importantly leave your nails bare, use cuticle oil 2+ times a day, and try and get a test. If it is HEMA and you can then get HEMA free manicures, please go to a trained professional 🙏🏻
