Spending your guys' anniversary helping Keegan convalesce is really a beautiful thing. Having "your person" who you know is there for you through thick and thin is a dream. Reminds me of the quote "What you take for granted, someone else is praying for." You guys could go to the theater with anyone at any time and it'd be fun; but having the security of knowing your person has your back, is priceless.

Goodness! I am 64, and I had my deviated septum fixed in 1967. I had my nose broken three times by the time I was six (don't ask) and chewing (and mouth breathing while I chewed) was grossing my family out. I remember the operation (vaguely) as very nasty, so I am very sympathetic. Keegan will chew more quietly, and sleep more silently, once the tons of wadding come out. The world will be a happier place 🙂

Poor Keegan! I had that surgery a number of years ago. My 5 yo granddaughter wanted to sleep with me like day 2 to “keep an eye on Grandma” long story short she flung her arm during the night and hit me smack in the nose! Oh the pain!!! Get well soon, Keegan!

Hey Joel. Just a suggestion but you need to cut off all the apples except one or two per branch or the weight of the apples will drag the branches down or snap them. They are too thin to support that amount of fruit. I would also stake the branches with some bamboo stakes to support them and stop them from sagging. If you haven't already done so feed the tree with some slow-release fertiliser to give it the energy it now needs to grow the fruit. These are things I did to my apple tree when it was little. When the tree grows bigger and stronger it will be able to support more and more fruit. Many growers remove all the fruit in the first year to promote growth of the branches for future fruit bearing.

@@TheJoelWood No worries mate. Keep an eye on the fruit as they grow to make sure they don't drag the branches down. The main thing in the first year is to grow the tree as much as possible so its branches can support the fruit in following years. Always thin out your fruit so the branches don't get overloaded. If you like citrus like lemons, oranges, etc. they are probably the easiest to grow in pots. Cherries are also easy to grow. You can plant them out in a garden if you want to when you move. I have the greatest empathy for Keegan. I had that same surgery two years ago. I think the worst was not sneezing or blowing my nose for 3 weeks, in the middle of hay-fever season. That nose hammock was a real nuisance. I didn’t have a caretaker so I had to do everything first myself. People in the grocery store barely looked at me. Taking the packing out was really not a lot of fun. 🇨🇦🇨🇦

Joel, I am one who loves to eat in bed. Especially while watching your channel. Your trees are doing well. My mom was growing a maple and came home one day to find the squirrels had ripped out from the pot and it was totally gone. It was the same size as yours! Love your vlogs, Joel. Those sun chairs look relaxing, but like the arms might get hot in summer, from experience. Oh my, Keegan must have been so thirsty by the time the surgery finally happened. Happy anniversary guys. Poor Keegan. I hope he has already recovered by the time you published your vlog. I’ve been through the 'nose rebore' - twice! I didn’t find it painful but uncomfortable. Especially when the kilometres of wadding comes out 😊. I still wonder how it all fitted in. I can also relate to the nil by mouth fasting and the early arrival at hospital only to wait all day with a rumbling stomach before surgery. After my surgery I was so starving I had a hot cuppa and 'hospital special' sandwiches. In my defence no one told to avoid hot drinks. The result was a gushing fountain of blood from my nose and an irritated nurse having to hold pressure on my nose for half an hour until the bleeding stopped. Oops🙄😊. Cheers from Melbourne.

I had that same surgery at like 14 and it suckedddd. They downplayed it too like I could go back to school in a week and definitely could not. You have to sleep sitting up and you literally can’t breathe through your nose until they take out the silicone things in there that are holding up your septum. Feel better soon Keegan ❤️‍🩹

Joel, good to take care of Keegan! But, you need a device called a "boxcutter", man!! Ideally, one with an auto retracting blade (when you take your finger off the button, the blade will retract, so you don't forget to retract it). It's a device to cut boxes that's safer than scissors, it keeps the blade away from your hand/fingers. 🙂 btw are you still into peanut butter and jelly sandwiches lol. That's good stuff! Ideally you want peanut butter based on roasted peanuts though, the most popular brands being "Jiff" and "Skippy" (I personally grew up with Skippy so that's my preference, but both are good) and the traditional jelly (you guys call it jam) is "Welch's Concord Grape Jelly". Be sure to wash them down with milk! That's one of the few cases where I would drink unflavored milk these days, is if I'm drinking it with PB&J. 🙂

I had a major breakdown when I tock my husband in for surgery for a new hip (he is not old) because he was nervous, and I was pregnant and my father in law thought he had lost our cat (he had it at his place) and he was freaking out. So I wish I could keep it as cool as you :P

I can sympathize with Keegan. I had my deviated septum fixed 20+ years ago because of constant sinus infections and headaches. The surgery was like a miracle when I healed up. I went from 6 or 7 sinus infections a year down to 1 or 2. I hope he feels better soon. Happy Anniversary! ❤

Omigosh, Septums, loungers, and Leeds, oh my! I hope everything is back to it's normal routine, all healthy and anniversaried. I love seeing those itty bitty apples. Having been born in Florida, I laughed how my northern friends went crazy seeing orange on trees, and actual coconuts. I had that surgery and my nose was packed with cotton for a week. When they took the cotton out, I was in this cold exam room and could feel the air flow in and it was fantastic. One thing my doctor told me about the mucus that Keegan is experiencing is that we produce a quart and a half of“snot“ per day and if your nose is messed up on the inside, it doesn’t do that as effectively, so there’s that :)
