8:00 this is the kind of joke impossible to translate without any explanation. "Delicious" in Japanese is "umai", but Bashame says "uma" (馬 = horse) and, as response, Nokotan says "shika" (鹿 = deer). These two kanji together form the word "baka" (馬鹿 = idiot, stupid), which is the essence of this whole series 😂

Fun fact about high school anime in a time distortion zone. Ranma 1/2 *one of the founders of Harem anime....and is also getting a reboot this year* ran for ages...might still be running as a manga I'm not sure. I was surprised to hear the Sailor Moon manga was ending recently when I thought it ended like thirty years ago, unless I got a crossed wire somewhere. Anywho, the Ranma 1/2 manga and anime had multiple christmas episodes, several winters, several summer episodes, lots of festivals that clearly mark parts of the year...but...the characters never got older or when up in grades as far as I remember. and it wasn't a sliding timeline like the Simpsons, there was continuity, past events were referenced just not the passage of time was referenced.

Hm, well, this was an interesting way to do a Mid-Season Finale, makes me wonder what we could expect from the Season Finale. Anyway, I was wondering how Noko and Neko being counterparts would work and make sense, but not it seems like the Series is really trying to setup some kind of Rivalry between Deers and Cats, so the initial vibe i got from these Two feels validated somehow, now we just need some kind of reveal that Neko has been a Hidden Cat-Girl all along and then the Deer/ Cat Rivalry can start in full force. Anyway, I have to say, out of any Characters in this Series so far, i think i like the Dynamic between Noko and Neko the most and i just want to see them interact more.

Speaking of weird fetishes, in the realm of the "fantastical" fetishes (AKA: don't try this at home its either very illegal, unethical, dangerous, or fatal and would hurt a shit ton to even partially try without doing something like costumes and props) is the human suit fetish. Wearing the other person as a costume with you inside...and there is an entire anime I believe that was born from this, seen clips of it but don't remember the name where the guy turns into a fleshy mascot costume that a girl crawls inside of. Yeah there are levels from turning into living clothes/armor, to elastic powers and worn to transformed into a living but inanimate costume etc... the wearing someone's molt fits into that as a tangent.
