UPDATE: The Dermatologist prescribed me Doxycycline 100mg 2x/day and also Clindamycin 1% topical lotion 2x/day. The Doxycycline has been working great BUT my skin is becoming very sensitive to the sun! Considering its basically summer here in CA and the doctor wants me to take this medication for 3 months, the timing is TERRIBLE!! I am going to discuss this with my doctor and look into alternatives that don't cause photosensitivity. REMEMBER: Doxycycline and sun DO NOT MIX! Has anyone else experienced this?

SkinCareWithRoss Hey buddy. Back when I was on Doxycycline I remember that my skin was super sensitive to the sun for the first month or so. My body did seem to adjust as time went on though. I used the cerave am moisturizer with spf 30 and that helped a ton. Good luck pal

Thanks Ross! I just submitted my visit through Spruce so hopefully I get a treatment plan that will work wonders for my acne!

Ross! Omg I feel terrible for you, I really do. I feel it will be some sort of ingrown hair/ hair follicle infection. I have dealt with acne myself - have my own acctuane videos, so I truly understand how it can make you feel self conscious. I'm currently on Retin A cream. Love your vids, x

Being a "skin care whiz" you should realize skin conditions are almost 100% internally caused. This includes acne, eczema etc etc. Now most dermatologists do not tell you this, why? Because it's much easier to prescribe one of the 1000+ prescription skin medications. I suggest taking a look at your diet seeing if you have been eating something you normally don't eat. Thanks (my mother is a practicing dermatologist)

Hi Ross, Thanks again for sharing this information. I hope you do a follow-up video on the results in a month or so. Would be interested to see the actual results. $40 is a steal for this approach..and so happy you shared with us! Bravo!

Bless you Ross, thanks for posting this. I had cystic acne blind lumps all over my face a month ago for a few weeks. They are really painful and nasty to have. I live in the UK so our health system is very different to yours, but I hope we can get an app like that here soon. I hope that the medication works for you, let us know how you get on with it.

Okay, so im 16 and I get really bad acne.. But I have a tip for others like me, Just stop touching it and wash it with normal soap and cold water twice a day.. It works, ive been doing that for about a week now and my skin is already clearing up.. also, do not eat food with a lot of grease and oil cuz that is half of the problem. I stopped eating chips and stuff like that and it has helped A LOT. Hope it helps :)

ROSS! I watched your video a few weeks ago. Then, I developed bumps on my face as well. I went to my doctor and he diagnosed me with the SAME THING--folliculitis. I didn't mention your video and I thought to myself, "She'll probably give me some antibiotics. And sure enough, she did. She didn't, however, give me any topical creme/ointment because my skin didn't appear acne related??whatever that meant. But, I'll be taking the antibiotics tonight. She said it should clear up soon and to be sure to eat food with this antibiotic. My antibiotic is "Cephalexin 500mg." Your videos are awesome. How ironic, though, that I developed the same thing you had. Keep uploading great tips. You're so awesome. PEACE to you and your family/friends!

I'm just giving my personal opinion, as a nurse you should know more than anyone that the first part of nursing, is assessing. Which would mean a health care provider needs to view the lesion face to face. Having a heath care provider provide a treatment based off a picture isnt best practice since many skin issues look the same.

Hey Ross, Thanks for sharing the app. I really wanna get into it but I wanted to ask you after you pay the $40. Is that all you pay. I remember the last time I went to see a dermatologist I had to pay for the medication that was prescribed to me since my insurance didn't want to pay for it. So in that situation what would Spruce do?

I hope you get your problem fixed Ross, Ive never been to a dermatologist before in my life. I have questions about skin discoloration on my skin that's not going away. there is also a bump on my forehead that has a real strange shape that I want to get checked out. i need to stop putting this off and get my ass to a dermatologist.

6:14 is why I decided to try this app out. I feel like it's starting to take a hit on my confidence. OTC doesn't seem to be working as well as Differin did back in 2008.

I am just curious if you are able to see the name of the doctor that is going to be reviewing and examining your information. Would there be a way to check the dermatologist's credentials and ensure that a licensed healthcare provider is actually doing the assessment?
@MensSkinCareWithRoss9 жыл бұрын
I don't believe you can choose the doctor that treats you, however once I submitted my info an MD was assigned and his full name and credentials were available for me to look into. Based off his treatment plan I feel like the MD was extremely knowledgable, I'm mean it is his specialty after all!

You should look into a LightStim LED handheld device... They are great for healing the skin and getting off of acne medications. And I'm sure the amazing staff there would work something out with you. Ask for Chris Healy and let him know Richard Merrill-Rivas referred you! Glad it was not something more serious!

How were you so sure you needed a prescription? Pharmaceuticals aren't always the answer for everything. Also, I'm assuming you were compensated for doing this review?
