I have a suggestion for the electronic reader. At least in the early days of text to speech, to get the voice right, the spelling of some words had to be changed so they sounded right. It might be the case here. Closer than what the reader said, you might spell fiancée as fee-on- say. Not right, but closer.

Badly read by AI. It kept changing the names of two of the characters. Dette/Dannette was okay. I could follow it. But when it was doubt Elbert and Albert for one of the brothers, I thought I had heard the name of the other brother wrong and he was Albert. No. He was Dusty. Then, while most of it was told from the perspective of the OP, Elbert's wife, it would sometimes seem to switch to the perspective of the betrothed/, wife of Dusty. It was poorly written and challenging to follow at times.
