It's a wonder Leandros didn't accuse Titus of being a xeno lover after this mission, he came into close contact with a Carnifex and was the only member of his squad to survive... sound familiar
@Galejro2 ай бұрын
I'm convinced that after 200 years Leandros is a bit more adult person now, see he could just spill the beans to the chapter, he could say something, he could act in Tiduses harm, hell accoring to the devs even Calgar don't blame him for the accusation. It appears the crappy snoopyness is still there, hence the Chaplain role, but now a lot more tempered with pragamaticism. When he learns Tidus team killed the astropath he was accusing, however he acknowledges Gadriel and Chairon's testimony. He is stll a prick, but at least now a prick that is willing to consider the word of others and form more objective opinions. Curious how will his story be in SM3 if it comes to it.
@ilikepies4877Ай бұрын
It’s probably because he didn’t actually survive. They said his wounds were fatal meaning he was killed and then he was put back together and brought back to life as a primaris marine
@matasa7463Ай бұрын
@@Galejro I bet he himself has a lot of guilt over it, and he's trying to justify it to himself that what he did is right, even though he never felt right about it. That's why he's so happy to see Titus still alive - he was hoping the Inquisition would either absolve Titus and return him, or prove his suspicions correct with a judgment of heresy, but he got no answers instead, which just drove him crazy with guilt, because he was hoping for justice and vindication, and got none. Titus returning and being found to have done no wrong, both relieved him, and also put him on edge, because now he is the one being judged, as he sent an innocent brother, his own commander, to be unfairly imprisoned. It would be interesting to see how he will work with Titus in SM3, given that Titus is now a hero of the Ultramarines, and rightfully well regarded by both Calgar and his own Primarch. Leandros is now the one that has to prove himself, and even if he tries to hold his "suspicions" over Titus, it is for naught, for he has no accomplishments of his own, nor the backing of powerful people, compared to Titus. He is utterly alone and without merits to his name, so if Titus wanted retribution against him, he could rightfully ask for it and Leandros would have no recourse. That's going to hang over Leandros' head like a guillotine, waiting to drop, and it definitely will mess with his head.

It makes sense in terms of how warfare is in 40k and the sheer levels of f no involved in fighting them. Battles and wars in 40k can take centuries, engagements that consume generations of soldiers, and continent-fulls of assets and resources. An exterminatus is a stain upon the honor of the Imperium, however it is always preferable to loosing many times a planet's worth in troops, guns and fuel to defend while those same resources could be put to more winnable battles.

@@Galejro Don't forget, everything you throw at that planets surface will end up being consumed by tyranids. Spores will hide below the surface of the planet and wait for their time to resurface and attack. Genestealers using their chances to occupy positions in important office positions in the years after war and rebuilding. If it's a direct fleet attack of tyranids you are better off denying their food source entirely and killing as many of them as possible with the planet. If it's a seemingly "small" attack and you are late, you can't know what you did miss before and what i going to come soon. If the defenders have no navy fleet deployed or close by to repell before entering planets orbit, it may be the only solution to glass the entire planet sadly... Just think what would happen if you miss a single spore on a hive or jungle planet in the rear of your galactic defense line.
@poorpriest4549Ай бұрын
Most of the traitor attacks are either to worship dark gods or to get loot and equipment + slaves. If you can't save the planet, you can at least make sure that they will not get what they want. As for tyranids, there was a moment in lore of wh40k when inquisitor of ordo xenos destroyed a lot of worlds on the path of tyranid fleet and tyranids starved to death.

It's not their first question, and it very much depends on the opponent and world. Against Tyranids and major Chaos incursions they're quick to jump to that option because the outcome is either a strengthened hive fleet or a daemon world. Neither of which can ever be used again.

This intro mission is by far the best in the game, in my opinion. The deathwatch in this game are so much more characterful then the ultramarines and this first mission just feels the most polished of them all. To be fair, the game is still enjoyable, but would have been so much cooler if they just made it Deathwatch based and had the team from this first mission be more involved narratively... tho I get that it probably wouldn't pair quite as well with GW's hopes of bringing over new Space Marine players, of which Ultramarines are the poster-boy faction for. That said, going the deathwatch route would have made the idea of players in multiplayer playing different factions of space marines together in one squad make more sense, tho.
@matsumototatsuo2 ай бұрын
After the intro mission, game feels boring. Coop is badly done. PvE is unbalanced, unplayable. Not a big fan of invulerability during executions, SM1 does not have it. The intro and the last mission on Demerium are the only good things about this game. I played on Angel of Death difficulty tried to play accurately to how much Titus would have actually taken health damage. The primaris ultramarines are stronger and more resilient as the chaplain said which is why Deathwatch is cool and more honorable.

@thecommentguy938029 күн бұрын
There's the short series that kick started the popularity of 40k, called "Astartes" by Syanma Peterson, you can watch it on youtube. Few other short movie on youtube you can check on is "Death Korp of Krieg" and "Siege" from Sodaz (who got harassed into quitting 40k just because he accepted GW's deal), "Angels of Death: Origins" (free on warhammer's channel), "The Lord Inquisitor" from Warpgazer Animations (abandoned), "Death of Hope" from SparksArtifex (abandoned). There's also fan movies on youtube with "Helsreach", "The last church" and the recent "Awakening" There are several other official movies you can find on Warhammer+, though i must note that the series called "Hammer and Bolter" may have pretty ass animation quality initially because they didn't invest much at the start
@ruotsionpaska24 күн бұрын
There's an old "Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie", but I hear it's not very good... There's some fanmade content like "Helsreach" (adaption of a book) and "Astartes", and Games Workshop has been doing some short things in recent years that I'm not really up to date on, but mostly there's games and books.
