The instant you talk about the S6 being best road trip car you’ve owned, you hit a giant bump on cue. Only the best in the biz can pull that off. You have progressively grown up with your cars but keep making them just as much fun. 👍

I ran Redstuff pads in Stoptech brakes on my B5. No dust but easy to cook them and fade. I gave them away when I parted out the car. I like Hawk 5.0 for the street. Audi OEM brakes have always been making wheels dark with dust for decades.

Before Covid around I think 2018 I got my wife one after she had a TTS. When we test drove it I just couldn’t believe that much car could be had for only 22,000 bucks (it was a 2013 with 70k miles) so we jumped on it. I have an s5 v8 6spd and you’re right the s6 is just another level. I daily an a6 2013 TDI and am a happy passenger princess everytime I make my wife drive somewhere in her S6 instead 😂. Longest trip was about 4 and a half hours one way and I slept like a baby the whole way.

I think you could run stock pads no problem. In europe we drive these cars at 250+kph down an autobahn and brake them hard into every 120kph, 80kph restricted zone or into an exit ramp.

Great video for sure! I owned S4 and Upgraded to S6. It is exactly what you said. S6 is better in every way compared to the S4. The only thing I love S4 better is the linear feeling of supercharge which makes you feel good for the first 2 seconds. S6 is the best one as a daily driver because it is subtle(don’t draw much attention from cops), air suspension is way more comfortable and smooth. However, when you need that power, it delivers what you need. Personally I think sports exhaust is enough for a daily unless you like more fun. S6 and M550i are by far the best choice to enter v8tt world as a beginner.

Add a proper radar detector and a Lazer jammer along with Waze and your road trips become epic fun, effortless and of course rapid. My stage 3+ B5 S4 would beat me up. 1000 miles straight in 13 hours and get feeling fresh and relaxed. I e road tripped about 8000 miles in in my S6 over the last 8 months. Couldn't be happier.

You forgot to mention if you have the Audi Active Lane Assist. Does your car have it? If it does it will steer for you and keep you in the lane. My A6 came with the adaptive cruise control package but did not come with Active Lane assist. The great thing is, your car comes with ALL of the hardware, radar sensors, and camera in the windshield if you have adaptive cruise control. YOU CAN ENABLE THE ACTIVE LANE ASSIST FOR FREE WITH OBDELEVEN OR VAGCOM! Feel to ask me any questions, I can help you set it up or you can check the Audizine forms. You DO NOT need the lane assist stalk by the way to activate the setting on your dash, it can be turn on with vagcom. Great videos by the way!

I've had EBC red on the front of my 2013 A6 (with upgraded S8 Front calipers and Rotors) for like 3,000 miles. So far I have really enjoyed them. I obviously don't track my A6, but I've definitely noticed less brake fade then stock. Wheels also stay noticeably cleaner than stock. So far so good. Bought them and the rotors from FCP, so I don't care much about longevity. Long story short, I would highly recommend Redstuff, so long as you've got that lifetime replacement to back up the expensive cost of entry.

I switched to g-loc and even went with their autocross pad r6 and the amount of dust they create are about the same as the reds with 10x the performance. I would take a look at the gs-1 level pad they offer for regular daily if you just want less dust.
