So this drama is very similar to another one i saw a couple months back, but that one was starring Him With The Muscles and The Cold Face Who Actually Loves His Ladies DEEPLY and Long Time, and done with way more subtlety. Not that i didn't like this version. In this, the ML is basically a cobbled together barely functioning accumulation of past traumas (BOLD to actually make him a cutter). So he's a bit easier to understand and not as opaque. I liked him. I felt for him. I liked that he grew and changed all on his own and knew how to admit when he'd been wrong. Now the FL, she perplexed me. SHE approached the ML, not the other way around, and entered into a devil's bargain of mutual gain with him. Then SHE left after getting what she wanted, and he let go gracefully, only for her to turn around and come right back to strike another bargain. But SHE mad that he was treating her like a chess piece? Girl, YOU offered these terms. Side note: he may have been rough, but he never forced her to do anything, only punishing her (lightly) for disobedience when she stepped beyond their agreement. They were a pair of manipulators, which is why it BAFFLED me that she couldn't see through Second Master. 🤨 He's the MIDDLE son in a family of monsters. She REALLY thought he was some poor sweet innocent sob? Surviving such a house means being monstrous by defualt. And surprise surprise, he was the biggest demon in the dark. Her gullibility really didn't match her initial boldness, and the incongruity left me feeling mostly just annoyed with her. Especially since Second Master was SO obvious. 😒

Very interesting story acted by amazing actors. Really enjoyed watching it. It takes you through the twists and turns, going one moment supporting one brother, pitying the other brother while hating another. And as the story unfolds you change your perceptions pitying the one you hated, hating the one you supported and wondering if the other guy is worth liking 😂😂😂. I had a fun time confusing myself watching the brothers and the the heroine that's sometimes running hero-out & hero-in. I highly recommend this drama. Give it a whiz. You won't regret it

@ I get what you mean. The most typical of vertical/douyin/low-budget/mini-drama troupes is irrational storyline/plot to attract viewers. A lot of viewers dislike this kind of troupe but yet many other will always watch it. So, it’s back to personal choice. If you watch the full length dramas, you unlikely will find this kind of plot. They have much better quality, more professional writers and directors, line with real life for modern drama. We sometimes can watch the good ones, less violence, even though is really rare. I have found a few. As a country, China is famous with their strict law. You can search on internet from valid resources to find more about China if you want. We can’t judge the whole country just based on their fiction and irrational vertical drama.
