What else would you like to teach us Alena? Every page there is something new, a background, working with paint, beautiful color combinations! Perhaps you want to explain some techniques, how we must paint, how to handle the water, how we can make our own combinations. I dont now if there are rules or it is only a question of talent. Never doubt yourself. You have such a beautiful talent. Your colours sing with vibrancy. It's beautiful to see your finished work but also to watch you colouring. I think your style is very unique and you are Queen of the Inktense pencils. Do you have a video of your colouring a page with your alcohol markers? PS I love the Escape to Shakespeare's World and Escape to Christmas Past. Great little books. The flower you have on your balcony is a passion flower in English. For a long time I really wanted to get hold of a copy of the Russian Mermaids book. I love the drawings. But I decided not to buy it in the end because it was expensive (not available in the UK) and it's so big. I get daunted by huge pages.

I used my alcohol based markers mostly in Manic Botanic book kzbin.info/aero/PLyfiUmEC8dZPZu8T7zmRLoHcl42SkzR3d . I don't know why but I don't like bleeding even in one-sided books even if Copics are able to create magic on paper!

Everything I try to colour with alcohol markers seems to bleed sideways! I colour within the lines but it spreads out. I really hate that.

It's a problem of the paper! Here kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYawaGueaN53ntkm44s I tested markers on loose soft paper (and pigment didn't stay in lines) and on the nice paper. So it's tricky to find a coloring book with a right kind of paper for markers.

Your colour schemes and your output is phenomenal. Have you done any pages in gouache? The first book on your pile the Paris one suggest using gauche. I’ve not tried any pages with gouache.

Hi! Great video with such a beautiful finished pages!!! :) I just wanted to ask you, when you finish to color the picture do you spray the pages with fixative spray..? I was looking in my coloring books with double pages, that some of my pictures got smudge with the colors from the opposite page... :/

Thank you! I never use fixative - nether with soft pastel background ( I just rub pastel into the paper nicely) nor with pencils. Honestly we don't have such fixatives in art shops in my country... I just put a sheet of paper between already finished pages for the time when I colour next page and apply pressure with my pencils. When I store my books on the shelf, finished pages don't smudge opposite pages, so I only take precautions during colouring time

The choice of the medium also greatly depends from the paper quality in the book... I wish we had all books with thick paper suitable for water mediums.... My favorites are Prismas (they work great in any book) and Inktenses (they are fun to use ) for now.

At around 15.44 mins you show a book, I think it's russian, where there are gorgeous pictires in it. I saw it sometime ago in one of your vids and after searchin at amazon I found and bought it. The title is translated into something like 'the wind brings flowers' or someting like that when I copy and paste it from amazon into google translate. This artist has also done the books Mounts 1 and 2 I believe. I saw some gorgeous coloured in pictures from you. Could you maybe please do some videos coloring in that book?

Sometimes people ether purchase gifts for me on Amazon USA and send them to the address in USA (delivery company which then transfer parcels to Ukraine much cheaper comparing to Amazon delivery) , or they send Amazon USA gift cards telling me what staff they want me to purchase.

I was curious how long does it take you to color a two page spread?

I'm quite a quick colorer... so usually I need about 2-3 hours for a page.... for a spread - 4-5 hours. Usually I need two days to finish my work - I do half of the page.... or just background. Then I put it aside for an evening, and the next day I can see clearly the lack of contrasts, color accents needed and so on. Pages like 'Flower year' are smaller and I can finish them in 1-1,5 hour

I color really slow, it would take me about a week to do 2 pages :-)
