I don't know what process you used to clean that board and the connectors, but DeOxit D5 is the best stuff out there.

These four door ones are boats,even though they are fast most people who own these sit in the back and have a driver take them to work and back doing 70 mph tops.You need to get the two door one,i live up the road from bentley dealer,they have used two door ones outside for sale from $25,000 to $200,000,very nice car.
@4LaneBlacktop4 жыл бұрын
There was a 2 door at the auction not long ago. I was high bidder but it had a reserve. They reauctioned it the following week and someone out bid me by $5k.

Using that VW unit was a good bit of luck,those things cost a fortune from the dealer,lucky that they are using other cross over parts to save money.We have a old mercedes ML that needs the same sort of thing,the dealer want $1,700 for it,we have bought a couple of used ones but cannot get them to work,i keep telling my husband to scrap it,he says he loves that car,men and cars.

Thanks for sharing this with us, great videos of a great mechanic at work, so admire your resilience to problems with this car and getting them sorted, as an ex Bentley owner I can imagine what the costings would be to take it to even a specialist let alone a main dealer! Very well done.

That rear suspension module is located near the battery. The battery fumes gases and unless those gases are properly syphoned out of the car with small venting hoses, those gases and heavy metal toxins can react to the delicate metals in that module and other surrounding delicate plugs. The corrosion on the plugs and module may be related to the battery gasses.

Looks like you've got some good luck going for you. Maybe the last owner spilled some #Perrier in the trunk while loading their upscale groceries in the trunk, & didn't clean it as well as they thought.

I followed you from day one your a patient man knocking off bit by bit of what could be the problem and fixing it.Excellent. While watching you gave me a tool to use. My Chrysler has a long crack(about three feet) I could put Masking Tape on it and you wouldn’t see it . With the soldering gun, reinforced plastic, I can fix the problem. Thanks That’s a nice Bentley. I don’t know if you’re going to keep it or sell. I hope you get what you want. I will keep watching.
@caiusmuciusscaevola4 жыл бұрын
I have seen rain water/car wash water intrusion cause just this problem. Tail light lenses are notorious for leaking on even the most expensive cars Your module damage is typical of a long term rain water/carwash water leak. You'll notice the orange stain on the RHS but not the Left HS of the trunk floor - once again an indication of a water leak. The remedy is cheap and simple. Remove the entire lens, and lightly coat both sides of the existing gasket with RTV silicone, allow to 50% cure, and refit. Check for leaks with a squirt of the garden hose both before and after repair.

Thank you. Glad you have enjoyed them. I only need AC and automatic trans certifications to become master certifed. I will get them at some point. As far as camera equipment, I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 phone shooting in 1080p 30fps. I do not use any lighting. Voiceovers are with a blue snowball mic or my note 10 mic.

Sounds like some of the faults I had on my 2005 jaguar XJ8L, I know have driven it for 7 yrs with no major problems. Always keep it in a climate-controlled garage. Moister with these cars is an electrical killer for sure with the hundreds of modules on them.

I am thinking that control module was not original to the car and already replaced as I read they are a weak point. If so, maybe the replacement came from a junkyard or other unprotected source and it got installed with trapped moisture which got locked in.

Did the software cost? With that software can you now clear all the old codes and reset them?
@4LaneBlacktop4 жыл бұрын
The software was licensed thru the purchase of the cable. I can reset all codes in every module, can even reprogram modules, force functions, and recalibrate many things that only Bentley can do.
@raulnunez4924 жыл бұрын
4Lane Blacktop can you put the link for the cable??
@NorthFloridaRebuilds3 жыл бұрын
Hi do you have the link for the diagonstic cable I’m trying to buy one ?
@DavidE-jw8zg4 жыл бұрын
If I'm not mistaken wasn't the car a rebuilt/salvage title already according to the auction listing? Possibly a flood damaged vehicle since its in such good physical condition. Otherwise how would that much water have gotten into the modules? Just a thought..
@4LaneBlacktop4 жыл бұрын
It was not a previous salvage rebuild.
@curlymyhero4 жыл бұрын
U 4 got to say how u reprogrammed that module! Is there a function on that $80 scanner for that?

Basically all you do is a re-calibration on the ride height sensors. Yes, that VCDS and that cable allows you to do that.

Notice after your last commenthe that the Check Engine Light is on, so perhaps not "all well". Does make you wonder if the previous owner sabotaged the Car to pay off a gambling debt - needed cash urgently? Difficult to understand the story. Perhaps one of his Kids thought they'd give Dad a pay back? So, I wonder why the other gremlins didn't show up after you managed to get the Car started doing your good work with the fuel. Surely a "Do not drive - take to the dealership" would flag up on such an expensive Beast? Did you mention how much you paid for it? Lovely Car. What year is it? Good luck
@4LaneBlacktop4 жыл бұрын
It is a 2006. Check engine light was on from a previous misfire code. It cleared up and runs great now. It doesnt seem to have any more problems anywhere but the paint issues which Im working on now.
@stuzeviews4 жыл бұрын
@@4LaneBlacktop That's good news if its running fine. I did wonder if that messed up fuel had got through to the Cats would you have one hell of an expense if they couldn't be cleaned. Are emissions OK? A high risk purchase but you seem to have struck lucky. I'll check out your other vids sometime. Have fun.

When ever you touch or handle stuff like this board your body and the board should be grounded. You can produce a huge static charge on your body of maybe 20,000 volts that will instatly fry those tiny components. Many of which operate at just millimothe of a volt.

@@4LaneBlacktop Man, I'm not even going to name what you did and risk being shadow banned. But if you plan on reaching the likes or Samcrac or Tavarish you have to take care with this kind of stuff. Just imagine reaching an audience of 1M and having all Ross-Tech fans or just simple Americans wanting to protect American jobs from Chinese knok-offs bashing you for using counterfeit material. Regarding being on a budget, I'm all about it and glad to see your work. In this case, you could have just go to ebay and buy a used one. They usually pop up there below 100 USD. That's how I got mine. Anyway, I wish you luck with your channel, I am subscribed.
