Why weren't we updated about how it stood between Carl and Katie after ten years? If I remember correctly, Carl was killed by his old enemies.
@richardcline1337Ай бұрын
That would have been the perfect ending as he knew Katie was married but still pursued her, wrecking her marriage. Carl got what he had coming to him and Katie is now alone, as she should be, the miserable wretch!

WTF?!?! What woman is a "great role model" for her daughter when she lied, cheated & betrayed her husband & kids & gave up custody of them for a man?!?! I get wanting to show these guys as good people, but they don't need to be spineless doormats either.
@ThomasSouder-d9wАй бұрын
Why lie to the children? Just tell them their mother has decided to go back to her other lover and leave us
@ruthienelson368216 күн бұрын
I agree to telling the children the truth depending on their level of maturity as to how much of the truth to reveal to them. Other people will be talking, and other children will be overhearing their parents conversations. The children need truth from their parents, so they won't be blindsided by the gossip.

Great story. I can't understand any person, man or woman who can claim to love 2 people at the same time. Katie did abandon her children. She is a 304!!

Even if she comes back and says she is over her affair how can any trust remain? If you forgive you will go through this mess all over again at some point in the future
@ruthienelson368216 күн бұрын
I agree. Trust must be rebuilt. It is difficult but can be done if the Cheater can allow their spouse to express whatever emotions they may be feeling at any given moment, without defending or making excuses for why they cheated. They also have to discuss and address what led to the cheating. They can recommit to each other with lessons learned. The grass may look greener on the other side, but it is still someone else's green grass. Your green grass was worked on and maintained by the two of you. You built your life together. Remember You can work through any situation TOGETHER. It has to be a "we" thing, once you work through the "me" thing. We can sometimes fool ourselves into thinking we can do better with someone else once we become bored in our everyday routines. It is the routine that need to be interrupted from time to time, not changing partners. Every situation is different. Communication and listening without judgment is crucial to helping our partners through whatever phase they may be going through.

There is another similar story like this where the husband ends up alone with only his children, while his ex-wife marries Carl and has a child with him. This version of the story is much better.

That's the French (tragic) vs. the American (happy, hero gets the girl) ending. They used to make films with both versions for the 2 markets.
@brianvernon249Ай бұрын
@@RealCurrencies Americans as a whole prefer sad/tragic endings; they just do not want to admit it. Go google the “Top 10” Hollywood movies of all time. Most do not have a happy ending. The studio executives dumb down everything, because they want to sell to all audiences. Warner Bros is a good example.

@RealCurrencies Thanks! It's interesting to learn that!
@brianvernon24920 күн бұрын
@@RealCurrencies American studios *think* Americans want a happy ending. Wrong! Time and time again, the majority of the top 10 of Hollywood cinematic history all time greats, are tragedies. The Godfathers, the 2 SW films that do not have a happy ending are considered the best, Infinity War, etc. the people who own the studios should listen to the fans & not some in-house marketing group. A tragic ending makes you think afterwards. I used to call two bigwigs at WB as family for 17 years. After hearing what came out of their mouths, they have no clue what to do with their IP. None. Clueless. They also will not learn from Disney’s failure and hire fans of their IP to create new products and not stick their finger in too many times. Example: “marketing says we need to include this phrase: (_______) as it will sell more toys.”

This husband seems to have been a REBOUND RELATIONSHIP from the mother's former love she never got past. She obviously moved on too quickly and built a life and family with her rebound for 16 years. When the man she truly loved re-entered her life, she became confused. She loved both men. But, since she was in a healthy, stable relationship, she should have avoided rekindling that old relationship. If meant to be they would reunite somewhere down the line without betraying her family. That would be the moral thing to do, as opposed to doing the selfish thing. Her children would be closer to adulthood within ten years. Her husband could pass within ten years. Anything could happen that would not cause her to give up the family she built with her husband. Life could still give her an opportunity to be with her true love, without hurting her family.

Any woman who can leave their kids for a man isn't a mom. Let the kids do to her and she did them. Leave her.
