I never heard this song before but Helena by My Chemical Romance was so awesome! Of course, I was in for a surprise when the dead body started dancing. It was hilarious. Here I was wondering who the dead person was and lo and behold the body jumped up and started dancing. hahahahahaha Only MCR...so funny.

The song is about Gee and Mikey's grandmother Elena, Gee felt he hadn't been there enough for her in the last year after she had supported them and the band, its his anger and grief really. In the context of the album Three Cheers, its about a guy losing the love of his life and the record charts the deal he makes with the devil to get her back....

This song is for Gerard and Mikey's (his brother, he plays bass in a band) grandmother, Elena Lee Rush, who has died. Gerard was very connected with her. Also the album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge is much about death and dealing with it. The dancer isn't literally Elena. The music video is about young women who probably committed suicide. And The Black Parade was their next album. If You want something more from MCR, You should react to Early Sunsets Over Monroeville from their first album.

The whole thing about the band is that they never wanted to stay stagnant that's why there are Eras and not just cookie cutter more music same look and sound. They were always talking about it in interviews. Especially Frank. He really hated when people tried to pigeon whole the band. He said they're not one thing or another they're constantly wanting to experiment.

There are so many other great MCR songs that were never made into videos. But there are lyrical videos out there for almost all of them. You are just tipping the iceberg on them. How I Disappear, The Sharpest Lives, Bulletproof Heart, Headfirst for Halos, Vampire Money, Boy Division, and I could go on. One of my favorite bands next to The Killers. Yellowcard is another interesting rock band with a violin, Ocean Avenue and Only One were their first two big hits. Always Summer and Gifts & Curses are probably my favorite songs from them.

I'd highly recommend you react to "Bulletproof Heart" by MCR. Also any Linkin Park song would be cool as they definitely defined this era. "In the End" would be a good starting place.

Its the first song on the album, a concept album about a killer who loses his wife and makes a deal with the devil to kill a thousand evil souls in exchange for her soul back. In the end the killer realizes his soul needs to be last because because he was no better than any he killed despite them being bad, killing is wrong no matter the rationalization. This first song is just a tribute to Gerard and Mikey Way's Grandmother and the concept of the video is open to interpretation but can signify the celebration of her life (flash mob dancing) as well as the symbolism of all the churchs role in death ( a wake, a eulogy, and the procession to final resting place) and the body rising as the congregation prays in my opinion is the souls last attempt to say goodbye loved ones before finally giving up the ghost so to speak. Further it can symbolize the start of the albums concept of someone special dying.
