I don't care if people are saying they were disappointing live, this is SOOO TIIIGHT!!! They literally haven't played The Black Parade in full since 2007, this is literally such a rare performance to see live!!! And of course Ray would play a Jazzmaster now that he's older hahaha. So tight seeing these dudes all together again playing such a defining album for an entire generation. Would've been incredible to see this live
@koolaidguy42029 күн бұрын
Also this drummer could've 1000% just used 2 snares, a rack tom, 2 floor toms, some hi hats, and 3 cymbals. Nooo ideeeea why homie needs ALL of that, hahah. I'm honestly surprised he isn't using 2 kicks if he's going to have half a dozen cymbals and 6 toms!!!!
@grenas199529 күн бұрын
@@koolaidguy420you haven’t seen the way Bob Bryar the old drummer plays the songs have you?? He had literally 2 drum kits in the black parade tour. A 4 piece and a 5 piece. The 5 piece for black parade and other songs that required it, 4 piece, for simpler songs like Helena, How I Disappear, and what not.
@koolaidguy42029 күн бұрын
@@grenas1995 yes, I’ve seen the way Bob plays, and yes I know he uses 2 kits. You also forgot to mention the entire percussion section he has between the 2 kits too. But this (obviously) isn’t Bob, and there isn’t a single MCR song on TBP that requires a china. Dude would be better off throwing a gong in the mix
@grenas199529 күн бұрын
@@koolaidguy420 yeah there is dude. How I disappear uses a china in the pre chorus, and choruses, black parade itself in the chorus, uses a china, house of wolves uses it when the band comes in. Watch the live performances with Bob’s kits. You’ll see the china uses. I don’t blame you for missing those details though. This new guy did better than this time than he did the last 3 times I saw MCR. It felt like he needed to practice more. It didn’t feel that way this time.
@koolaidguy42029 күн бұрын
@@grenas1995 yeah it would’ve been cool in theory to have Bob come back for this, but he was getting a little sloppy towards the end of his time with MCR. Saw him on one of the last tours he did with them and it definitely seemed like he just wasn’t into it anymore. Although i wish they would’ve done the old school Helena intro they use to do, that would’ve been so sick

They just didn’t need any of the extra shit. Their performance spoke for itself cuz they’ve been around so long, are so highly revered, and haven’t performed many times in the last 10 years or so. I heard a lot of people complaining about their performance, but I thought they sounded great. Then again, I was starstruck the whole time. I think the set I enjoyed the least out of the bands I was excited to see was PTV, but it was still incredible to see. Those old songs are hard for a lot of the bands simply because their voices have changed with age.

These guys are my ex's favourite band. We were supposed to go together, still together or broken up, but she opted not to so I went solo because... yolo. (Lol) We were each other's first MySpace crushes in highschool in 06. We reconnected in the summer of 23 and Finally dated. Although we didn't last long because of where we both are on our journey, I learned the most important lessons about myself through and with her. Hearing Disenchanted live made me replay our whole story in my head as I laid on the ground and took it all in. Also my favourite song played right afterwards, crazy how the universe works. 🖤

Someone needs to talk about the way someone thought about playing with shadows as an animated background during this show. This is amazing. It gives "changing camera angles" all along, depending on the light they chose as the "main" one, it creates the "main" shadow, and the shadow almost takes the center of the white screen lol.
