my family use to have lights like this and we kept fixing them every time that they would break they lasted from my oldest brother's 1st christmas until i went to college. I use to sleep on the couch at least once during when the tree was up to watch the lights while i fell asleep. it makes me sad not to have them anymore.

Back in 2003 I bought a snowing Christmas decoration, it was a Christmas tree in a plastic box with polystyrene balls in it and a pump, the pump would suck in the balls at the bottom of the tree then shoot them out of the top of the tree, giving the illusion of snow falling around the tree. Sadly the thing only lasted about 3 years before the lightbulbs burned out, and they weren't meant to be replaced. The decoration I had played the same songs as this set of lights you have, and our decoration sounded exactly the same too. The air pump in our snowing Christmas tree was quite noisy as well.

Those lights make me nostalgic too. I knew of four different families who had musical lights, one of which was my own. They didn't last very long in my family though, and neither did my father's. My aunt and sister also had musical light strings, and my aunt's seemed to last for at least 4 or 5 years. My older sister's musical lights were bells, and I don't know if she still has those or not.

I have fixed the broken musical Christmas lights control box.so it should play music again . It says on the back of the control box that you can't mend them but took the old control box apart .made a new control box for it . From maplin .in 2017before it closed down and bought a DJ light control box kit that has a built in jack plug socket.so we have any song playing

I think they still make them, but you can only buy them online. You have to be careful though. You COULD get the good ones, like these, or you could end up with terrible "musical lights" with a sound chip that is very high-pitched and prone to warbling, as well as lights that don't even flash to the music in any way. I've seen the videos. There are also the more modern options that are LED-based, bluetooth/app-controlled, and can sync to ANY song. Of course, these are more nostalgic for people my age.

Amazon has them. Search set of 100 synchronized musical mini lights! By the company hofert. They work great! And flash to the beat of the music! The only thing is that they don’t have a plug on the other end to attach more sets to. Other than that they work great! I just got some!
