I feel like a lot of the comments are missing the point of this video. Alopecia is very limiting as far as a range of styles. This video is about facing her fear and embracing a style that was “off limits“ to her. It turned out beautifully and I can’t wait to see more videos like this.

Traction alopecia is such a beast! And it is so EXPENSIVE to have any results to fix and theres no guarantee to fix it. And many women get it.... LOVE THIS!!! GOOD WORK! And love the work you do!!

The glue and the braiding will only make it worse. What she needs is to consult a trichologist, a good one can actually help her regrow the hair and advise on low tension hairstyles. Box braids only make traction alopecia worse and continuously styling the hair like this might make the alopecia irreversible.

Yes, it would, but it also seems like her hair will never grow back. She said, that she had been wanting to wear her hair up in a ponytail but was unable to. So, I concluded she's been wearing her hair down to let it breath and it is not growing back. So she probably figures, what do I have to lose.

I love that you didnt pull and that is SO IMPORTANT- I will not go back to a person who pulls my hair.... and that is real. If they pull my hair Im out. They will never braid or touch my hair AGAIN!! And I tell them whiule they are doing it of course- "Thats pulling" and they usually say "ah- you tender headed" - im not tender headed. but any where near my sides.... I am not playing!

Mine are gone like that but my dermatologist said it’s not traction alopecia, but my alopecia stems from my rheumatoid arthritis. It’s frustrating because the rest of my hair is down my back. I’ve thought about shaving it off but I know it will just grow back the same way😢

God Bless you both! I totally understand. My temple area is thin and I'm sure it is from damn ponytails as a kid!!! Hell, they had the audacity to call me Pebbles on top of it😮 I can't wear my hair back at all, and it is disheartening, to say the least. So, thank you both for this!

I'm Licensed and seeing the title alone drew me to comment real quick. I'm in a rush so I'll be quick. You may want to NEVER EVER allowing anyone to braid your hair & nor adding stress (extra hair) to pull it bad out. Reduce stress at all cost do not wear any tension to your scalp hairstyles if you are recovering from alopecia. Any Professional who cares will ever condone you doing so. I'll come back to watch

Glue on the actual hair is not ok, with prayer and faith the hair could grow back.
@traceyjames4681
@traceyjames4681 3 ай бұрын
Prayer and faith will more likely get one to accept the difficulty. Prayer and faith also gets a hairstylist like this to cross your path. There are some crosses we have to bear, and sometimes the reasons and science behind it is what stops the hair from regrowing. Don't confuse anyone by making them believe that they don't pray enough or have faith enough to "fix" a medical issue.

Why did you apply the lace to her natural hair? Will that cause the rest of her natural hair to come out?
@aichaprofessionalhair
@aichaprofessionalhair Жыл бұрын
Great question! We apply low tension to the natural hair and do our best to make sure NOT to exacerbate any issues. We also teach proper care/maintenane (avoiding ponytails and other high strain styling that will pull the hair amongst other tips & tricks) during the session to make sure she leaves educated and returns with a healthy scalp and length retention. Thank you! ❤
