Great collection. You are damaging these clocks by setting them by moving the hands anticlockwise, the gear will be damaged.

Old clocks that contain countwheel striking gear cannot turn backwards. New clocks that has Rack snail striking are okay to turn back.

I stopped some of them because of the countwheel striking, that means I can't turn it back. Usually I only wind some of them, all of the clocks are wound when i do my clock collection updates.

@@Clock1010 thank you for your reply. Do you think it worths to start a collection with a German Grandfather from the 90s? Or is better to save more and to buy a really old model? As far as I see, although a newer clock has less "historical attractivenes" gives you the same feeling, plus the wood and the clock itself usually is in better condition. Thanks in advance!
