I was not too interested in your lap top problems. I get them too! I get my geek son to fix these issues. But as a veteran long haul bus driver (43 years) for Greyhound, I was very interested in these busses. It looks like they are a bit smaller than our busses. Ours have three axles, whereas these seem to all have only two axles. We have washrooms in them all, and they carry 55-57 passengers. I don't drive the double decker busses, they carry more. What is the capacity of these busses? It looks like they are manual transmission, so they need a real driver to operate these busses. Busses are very interesting for me. Computers...not so much! 🤣

Hi Matt, You’re a superstar! You just showed a situation that would have taken 95% of us 2 weeks to a month to fix and you fixed it in less than 24 hours. Yes you should have done this or you should have done that but it is 💯 times more difficult there. With internet connection, moving locations, humidity, heat. You did a great job. The old ssd drive is very small. One day when you are rich and famous you can pay to get the material off of it if you really want it. There are companies that specialize in that but they are expensive. Up to $4k usd but it can be done. Hopefully nothing on there you need that bad. Thanks for the video! You handled this incredibly well. Thanks for the lesson in getting this done and reminding us to have a backup. No matter what your situation. Thank you very much for your kind words! I had a couple of vlogs recorded, so I can live without that, all my work is on emails, so it didn't suffer too much. I also spent another day installing the necessary software, I even had to buy one rather expensive program. But for Monday I was ready to work. This vlog perfectly illustrates the downsides of living on a small island, but living here is also a lot of upsides. Thanks and have a great weekend!

Wow Matt, sorry to hear about the problems. Hopefully you had other backups like on flash drives. I personally don't use the cloud but keep multiple flash and internal drive backups of all my important data. Flash drives are cheap, just don't loose them. I keep mine in a faraday cage inside a fire/waterproof safe.

Last week, I drove from Dumaguete to Mindoro. The ferry from Bacolod to Panay island is cheap and 24 hrs service but from Malay, Panay to Mindoro is a disaster; I guess it just another thing they need to fix here 😂

Not bad - leaving 8am and 16 hours later back home for simply repair/buy an SSD 😂 Flying to Poland is faster 😅 … but in Philippines you have a loooot of time or you need to have 😉 Then I‘ve had many questions regarding ferry times 🤔 what would start with „Why …“ but after been in PH for a while, don’t ask for „why ..“ and „what would make more sense“ - forget it, it is as it is 😅 otherwise you’re brain drives nuts 😂

why he not repair the ssd? mostly only one capacitor broken.. change the broken cap and it will be good as new.... but maybe he do it by himself if he not give you the "broken ssd" back...

buy a mac, lol. with time machine you get back from this situation in 30 minutes. with your new drive 100% configured like your old drive. No data missing.

Viruses can and have turned hard drives into seemingly useless bricks. they can hide in many other places, not only into your HDD, but also into other storage devices you have connected to your PC. So VPNs and other malware protect hard drives 😮
