I just completed Alatreon for the first time the other day, watching my entire party fly in during the cuscene had my whole group super excited that they cutscened everyone in but massively confused why it took to the end of the game's lifespan (as I understand) to do something like that. Really hoping Wilds implements the same
@randomystrangery97306 ай бұрын
They were a bit vague about it but it sounds like you'll be able to start main story hunts as a party and then seamlessly join up after you finish the cinematic section which should help reduce some of the inconvenient at least.
@Valosken6 ай бұрын
I'm wondering how that works. But it makes me hopeful.

i think the seikret pickup will just work exactly like the palamute pickup. where you hold a button, pray that the ai plays along and at best get picked up after a few seconds. As for coop rise had cutscenes in coop even with NPCs accompanying you so it should also work just like that.
@Valosken6 ай бұрын
It wasn’t so certain that Wild’s cutscenes would work like Rise’s, because Rise’s cutscenes don’t senselessly blend into gameplay.

Very good analysis. I wholeheartedly agree with your concerns, especially since I also have a very long history with the game series and know of the problems with very samey storylines and bad implementation of emotional moments. I'm going to take your advice and also only watch one more trailer, before I stop consuming spoilercontent. I'm not even going to preorder the game, because I have been burned in the past. I will wait a week or two after it launches and read some reviews and then decide, if I'm going to buy. Because sadly, these days you can NEVER be sure, if a game releases in a playable state.

I’m still preordering it. I completely trust Capcom to release a functional product, 100%, and even though Rise was disappointing, it was still fun.

@@Valosken Understandable. Capcom has been giving me a lot of hope for the gaming industry, by always releasing finished games with little to no bugs and "micro transactions" limited to a minimum, that doesn't affect the gameplay. Still, I have been disappointed to often by other devs in the past, whom I thought to have similar standards. The game still sounds and looks cool so far, but I can't shake my bad feelings off. :S

Im expecting this to be much closer to world than rise. They say "we dont see rise as a portable game", but it still very much felt like the experimental "portable" games of the past, which I never liked as much as the "mainline" games which feel simultaneously more grounded and polished, taking the best ideas from the "portable" games to evolve the series. Heres to the next evolution in the "mainline" games!

i think that auto dodge on seicret will be something like that iceborne mantle. it will be skill on seicret like weapon on palico etc. secondly we now know those cutscenes will not be ass intrusive as world but still not best. we know we can turn of palico voice so its chance to turn it off for main character.
@Valosken6 ай бұрын
I'm going to give the hunter voice a chance in cutscenes, but definitely would like the option to turn it off.

What do you think of the argument developers apparently made in an interview that letting the hunter talk now is because it is immersion breaking to have the protagonist never answer verbally when spoken with in cutscenes? At the same time they do imply their dialog will be pretty limited.
@Valosken6 ай бұрын
It makes some sense to me. We’ll have to see what it’s like in practice really. But given the promise of it being minimal, I’ll probably be fine with it either way.
@kylequinn19636 ай бұрын
All they have to do for Wilds is make world, make the monster hit boxes better, make multiplayer more seamless and fix that cutscene nonsense, add more monsters. Done. That's basically all the need to do to make the game better than World or at least on par.

The auto dodge is only in taxi mode, if you are driving you have to dodge things yourself. They stated, in interviews in other languages that combat is boots on the ground so no mounted gunner cheesing. Shun all who use mods to circumvent this in cross play hunts. The real issue is the fact that fast travel is free, even in combat. No more actively choosing to craft and take escape smoke bombs with you. Maybe when you are knocked down it won't work but 5th gen's infinite restock is back so, if we can always retreat at any time and restock, i'm a bit worried. Balancing the endgame may be a nightmare so we may get horrible knee jerk reactions in title updates. Horrendously bad hunt design to counter this because they can't actually take time to figure this out, with the skeleton crew they are given, as most of the team is working on the expansion or the next game when that expansion has updates. What do you have against Todd Haberkorn? I imagine there will be another voice or 2 for male and female anyway. they also implied that you all choose the quest and when you're done with the solo segment you join with everyone else that fnished it so far. That's a good way around this. These trailers have been taking a minimalist approach. Yes, it's a longer news cycle but they may have learned, from World and Rise, that we don't want to know every monster before release. It's too soon to tell. It's Rise's engine, supposedly upgraded so most of the skeleton work is already done. This means we will likely have a lot more monster than World or Rise or simply that the game will have a lot more to offer in other ways on top of a decent roster size.
@Valosken6 ай бұрын

I would like some monster to be more nervous, like a Tobi Kadachi but more movement, speed etc to give a freliny of being overwhelmed by the speed of that monster. I really liked the naviciole concept of World and the capacity of having more interactions with the monsters and the map so I'm hoping they keep it. It's less about raw difficulty than it is about method and forethought being prerequisite for success. There's a tendency for these two principles to get sacrificed for reactivity and faster pacing when game franchises attempt to streamline themselves for modern, and lets be real about this, attention deficit audiences. I have no love for mainstream gamer™ communities, they seem to want whatever it is they want right then and there, no waiting, no excuses. Any form of inconvenience, be it part of an intentional design or not, is unacceptable to them. It's an easily observable trend in a number of franchises, most relevant example being the differences felt in Rise.
@Valosken6 ай бұрын
Interesting thought. I think I agree with you. It's more precise to say that I want to have to be more deliberate and forward thinking for the new MH games. Cos obviously, I wouldn't be very happy if the 'difficulty' was simply the game being Rise again but with all the monsters one-shotting you.

My only concern with Wilds is if they adopted the horrendous Gacha/RNG system from worlds when it came to rare decos, kjarr weapons, Safi and guiding land materials. God Bless cheat engine. Grinding for gourmet vouchers or a specific deco is truly for the people who are allergic to grass. Even if they still want to roll with that method of earning things the odds have to be reduced and they gotta stop stuffing one monster with 20 different drops.

To compare rise to what Wilds could be is extremely disingenuous. Also no, space can in itself be good with scenery and good map design, which wilds will definitely have, cause yknow, it's not made for a switch.
@Valosken6 ай бұрын
Why is it disingenuous? "Good map design" might just be exactly what I'm talking about. Scenery in video games isn't worth much if there's nothing to actually engage with. Not that it's worth *nothing,* though.
@AtltheV6 ай бұрын
@Valosken It is disingenuous because they were made to achieve completely different goals with completely different hardware limitations, and by "good design" I'm talking about design from an aesthetic point of view. I walked around for hundreds of hours in World, just admiring the scenery, and I didn't need to press buttons for actions aside from walking, add dynamic environments, weather and herds to look at and you got a perfectly fine way to entice the player to walk without craving a fight or dying to spam something.
@Valosken6 ай бұрын
@@AtltheV It'd be 'disingenuous' perhaps if the intentions of the game were obvious, but they aren't. It takes a lot of inference to tell what the intentions of games are, and that goes doubly so when one of them *isn't even out yet.* So that's a bit of an excessively inflammatory word to use for it.
@AtltheV6 ай бұрын
@Valosken No, you're not getting me. Rise is and always will be an attempt at making New World MonHun (5th gen) a portable game while ALSO trying to add a lot of movement to a franchise that had 0 movement options other than walking. So, of course, they made some pretty big maps for the game, but due to the hardware limitations, they really can't fill these maps with lots of stuff. For Wilds, this is nowhere near the case, and sure, we don't know exactly what this installment's idea is - which I think is just seamlesness and openness - but we DO know what Wilds ISN'T trying to be.
