MY CONTROVERSIAL OPINION ON POLÈNE

I purchased my first POLENE in 2021 and then another a few months later, hence this was before the price increase. The quality of their bags coupled with their uniqueness has made them my 2nd fav handbag brand. The price and increase doesn’t turn me off at all. I have purchased 4 additional bags after prices have increased and I still think it’s worth it. All brands increase price for the many reasons you mentioned. I will always be a POLENE lover. I have never had any customer service issues and purchased all my bags online. I’m in the US and literally get my bags in less than 5 days. Not sure why people are bashing them all of a sudden but I have had wonderful experiences with them. My only issue with them is they have discontinued all the fun colors so I’m running out of variety in shades when I want to buy a new bag. Wish they would bring back the red and some of the pastel colors in some bags. My first purchase was the Neuf for $390!! And not the mini because it wasn’t even out then!!! I then purchased the numero un mini for $360! In 2023 I purchased the cyme for $430!! I also have the sept mini, huit mini and the beri.

I think the growing negative comments or experience is due to the growing number of Polene bag owners but the proportion remains the same as before. Also, when one person shares a negative experience on social media, theres always going to be some who will be influenced by it and will also see or accept the negative also. I own about 5 Polene bags over the past 3 years and love their quality and they still look brand new, including the smooth leather!

I love hearing your take! The only thing is that in the US I bought the Polene Beri for $350 in 2020 and now it is selling for $480, which is a 37% price hike in 4 years. It just seems a bit steep and like a cash grab to me to take advantage of their recent popularity. I was considering getting the Dix but at $580 I can’t justify it if it was selling for ~$200 less a few years ago. I wonder if others feel the same.

That is a good point! I've also been folowing the resale market on Polène bags and it seems to be surprisingly good. I mean you probably can't get exactly what you paid (unless you managed to buy something in 2020 and price has gone up a lot in the mean time ;) ) but for a contemporary brand they have been quite good. But I think the great thing about fashion is that there's many brands to choose from and also it's ok to change our minds on something we used to like. Thank you for watchign and for commenting!

Hi :) I live in Germany and ordered a nodde bag online last month. The shipment was super fast ( it arrived in just a few days) and I was pretty happy but the bag has several winkles and scratches. I reported the customer service but they responded me that it’s the nature of the leather bag and not a defect. I was not satisfied with the quality so ended up returning it. Although this time I was dissatisfied but I am still thinking of another model of their bags because they all are pretty!

I'm still a very big fan of the brand. I pre-ordered my 3rd bag, the Cyme Mini, in November last year. Arrived earlier than expected. Gorgeously packaged, impeccably finished. EVERYTHING to write home about! I'm sorry for the bad experiences some people have had with Customer Service. It happens with every brand. That's something Polène could address closely so they really stay well on top of their game.

I have the polenta mini too and I love it. I bought mine second hand but there was no wear and tear anywhere.

Hi Poola! For me, this is an overpriced brand, I have to say. And I am not talking about the price increases. I am talking about just googling the "real leather florence bags" and you will see how many similar bags will pop up. Or, for instance, somewhere in Spain in a little hand crafted leather things stores similar bags can be found. I think that these are the bags that they order in bulk and then put a mich higher price tag. Same bag, no brand, will cost much less. So, for the money, being it, say, 470 euro, I would opt for another brand.

Interesting point of view! I've personally thought that Polene has actually quite unique designs because I have never seen identical anywhere (of course nowadays there are dupes because the brand has gotten so popular). I googled this 'real leather florence bags' and I think for me the biggest quality differentiator is that those bags are made of genuine leather where as Polene uses better quality materials (such as calf leather). I watched a few videos of Tanner Leatherstein (a leather professional who buys designer bags, evaluates the craftmanship and quality of materials and gives his opinion how well (over) priced the items are) and based on his evaluation Polene bags are actually quite good value for the money - so I've been happy to believe him haha :D
